They deemed it to dangerous for daily operations. Could you imagine a C-130 crashing the deck? Anyways they introduced a new plane to perform this task, the C-2A Greyhound.
@U2oobfan Plus,the C-2 was designed for carrier ops including an integral tailhook & folding wings in case the carrier had to stow it for some reason.
