I've gotten my nitrocellulose from ping pong balls as well. They dissolve in acetone to a putty or paint like consistency depending on the need. After painted onto wax paper, you can dry it into a thin plastic film. The film can be cut into strips and used basically in the same way you would flash paper.

I approve of these videos showing where you can find OTC materials. Saves people time if they want to do a synthesis just for a product and you have been pretty diligent in finding cheap, relatively pure items. Nicely done.
