I met this woman when she ran against then-incumbent Spence Abraham. My takeaway impression was that she was as clueless as they come. I'm not being mean - I literally felt sorry for her. She was PUT into office by the UAW - period. Her entire career, in my opinion, is showing up and asking "how are we voting today?" and "can I have some talking points?" She would NEVER do a serious one-on-one interview, because she couldn't. Platitudes and rehearsed rhetoric - a recipe for the U.S. Senate.

She is right, you idiot. One of the primary results of Global Warming is the melting of arctic and antarctic ice sheets, releasing previously-frozen cold water into the world's oceans. This cold water has an incredible effect: it displaces stabilizing oceanic currents (such as the Gulf Stream, which keeps Europe and eastern North America comparatively warm). So that global warming INITIALLY results in colder winters (via unstable currents) and hotter summers: more climatological instability.
