the new Kryptonite and Onguard ulocks use a different kind of key now... not the round ones. they use a weird looking flat key, not like a house key tho

I tried this on my Tioga lock with a Bic pen...It couldn't work. Was the pen too fat? It expanded when I pushed it into the lock opening.

thats "trick does not work on normal 7 pin tubular locks. most locks that this could happen to were recalled.

Kryptonite has recalled all of the locks using the barrel keys and replaced them with a new key type (see Abloy locks and disc locks) which is not subject to the bic pen attack.

that's why I prefer good old steel cable, looped through front and back wheels and the fram, with that lock even if you couldn't pick it someone could still steal your fron or back wheel.

Who? theres loads of lock manufacturers, maybe, i dunno this was a brand new lock which i recently took back after showing the shop owner.

They're some D-locks with a totally different type of lock mechanism, a little like a car key which are very hard to undo.

I have done this to soooo many locks with success.
