  • Why do Americans expect everyone in the world to speak English... America isn't the center of the world and the Americans who think so are why everyone hates America.

  • @g00dm00sic it is the most widely spoken language though; last time i checked, this was youtube.com not youtube.jp

  • @doggfite .com does not stand for sites in america. youtube.jp does exist, you just get redirected to youtube.com if you're in the USA. most widely spoken language is chinese, then spanish, then english.

absolutely nothing you say is even remotely correct.

  • who cares of the misspelled words! he knows hoe to use the abacus! do you? awesome guy!

  • epic engrish

  • R.I.P....mortifact.....

  • @Sushimaniac96 死んで愚かな迷惑な雌犬をドロップ i did it XD

  • I preffer a calculator, i don't care if abacus is faster.

A calculator fit my hand and pocket.

  • @adriebm Abacus also teaches you to do the math. It translates numbers into spatial representation, so everything is mechanical. At a point, you can glance at a pile of numbers and just spit out all of them added or multiplied or whatnot.

  • @bluefoxicy i know brother i have one :)

    I live in Japan.

    i was joking

  • Why can't Japanese use spell checker! Just once!! All your base are belong to caluclatior, frakkin' hai hai puffy ami yumi, protecto meh ballz!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!

    LOOK IT UP!!!

  • @techraan Looks like you need to use spell check too. Your English grammar is a bit bad.

  • @Sushimaniac96 Yes, I tend to write with poor grammar, when I'm making fun of someone's poor grammar. Congratulations, you figured it out. <--- sarcasm

  • @techraan Well, it's the Internet. I can't exactly tell when someone is being sarcastic.

  • calculators are for the lazy

  • LOL TRY DOING MULTIPLICATION WITH THAT WOODEN TOY

  • @Knoughts You can actually do multiplication and division on an abacus, as well as square and cube roots

  • @Knoughts god please the me you're joking

  • 電卓のスペルがww

  • is that calculator on a cell phone like it looks like? Of course it is going to be slow, you can't type on those things,

  • there's more thrill if u guys fought ^^

  • thats not a calculator, its a phone.

  • I bet abacus couldn't do 87345897346578923645872634895673248956139846561389451x76589346587634852827583947

  • @blobblesanimations neither can a calculator lol

  • @BiXiE19 mine can it's 64140435570000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

  • @blobblesanimations no it's not, it gave you the first few digits, that's not even close. And now that I think about it, an abacus could do that though it would certainly take a while.

  • @blobblesanimations how many times until now you needed to calculate that figure.

  • @marshad012 never, but I might need to at some point

  • 人のことは全く言えないのだけど、お互い英語をもうちょい勉強した方が良さそう

  • poorfect engrish humboie

  • Good engrish hhahaha

  • There are more Dyslexic children in English speaking countries than anywhere else.

  • calculator takes...the skills of a 1st grader to use. abascus...not so much

  • Question is why isn't the abacus used in American schools for anything other than just a toy?

  • caluclatior

  • WIN RAR IS ME

  • since when has that i been in calculator lol. good stuff

  • this still depends on which one is faster, rather than the device itself. I can tell you that I know at least a dozen people that, even if they were WELL versed in the use of an abacus, I would defeat with a calculator.

Try something like the fifth root of 4567.8 and tell me an abacus is faster.

  • @NFITC1 You have no need to think about it with a calculator. I have a Chinese kid in my class who can multiply numbers like. 2.13456382*3.213523563 just by playing with the air. And get it way before a calculator, or long multiplication.

Keep in mind the abacus is also thousands of years old, the need for a 5th root was not needed then

  • @Potts132 While there's still no need to do things like 2.13456382*3.213523563 thousands of years ago either, you have a good point. Most simple calculations (even exponents and square roots) are going to be favoring the abacus in terms of speed. I guess my problem is with this video trying to act like it's a definitive test.

  • @NFITC1 I don't think this is either. But the point they were going for is that it can be faster. More practical terms, most people can't say 62*59 in there head. With the abacus you can do it nearly instantly

  • Numbah one!

Maybe they are adept at calculations, but serious dyslexia obviously follows.....

  • Interesting...the blackboard says: abacus VS caluclatior!! hahah!

  • Yeah because cell phone=calculator...

  • Are you going to blame them for making one little mistake? Try writing "電卓" correctly then. Color me surprised if you manage to pull if off before wrecking your eyes.

  • @coppurt I would at least do the research to make sure it was correct before publishing it.

  • That's a rather unfair comparison, why are they using a mobile phone calculator rather than an actual calculator? That just renders the exercise pointless...

  • i think that the spelling of CaLcULaToR is wrong...isn't it??

  • i believe the winner is abacus because has more digits than an ordinary calculator

  • this video could also be called Japanese people vs English spelling

  • theres a difference between a calculator and calucliatior. The calucliatior has more functions and stuff.

  • @SuperPowerMann like a calendar?

  • @MyNameIsNotPa no the calucliator is more sophisticated and ahead of its time.

  • you do know calculator is spelled wrong on the board..

  • wtf is a calucliatior. i use a fucking calculator

  • Does Anyone know how to build an abacus like this one? with home materials....anyone??

  • They should have had a third asian just use his brain...it would win.

  • I love the japanese accent when they speak in english...it is so adorable. it's an-ba-ri-ba-be-ru (i pick this up from anime, it's 'unbelievable')

  • ROLEX!

  • smart ass-- its called a 'BLACK'board

  • lmao... japanese

  • I didn't know they were speaking English until I read one of the comments said that they need to work on their accents. I thought they were speaking japanese in the video.

  • How about abacus vs TI 83 calculator. I Am sure the abacus can't graph.

  • haha Caluclatior! Fail.

  • they spelt calculator right in the title of the video.... LOL :)

  • OUTSTANDING

  • that's a phone calculator its harder to input the commands from those of a regular calculator

  • Why do so many Jap kids have the 70s Shag hair?

  • @trinitymike They're totally in a time warp. They enjoy disco too.

  • Work on the accent!

  • i like their accent

  • is calculator that hard to spell?

  • "Therefore, karrukalataa is winna." Asian people speak so funny. No wonder they don't like the taste of english on their tongue; they haven't figured out the basics!

  • yet the japs released the first ever compact calculator.

  • @leethebug **Japanese

I hate when people use the term, "Japs". It sounds like something out of a bad WW2 movie.

  • @Sushimaniac96 ww2... come on. the past is past.

  • @leethebug Exactly. Which is why I'm saying DON'T use the word "Japs".

  • @Sushimaniac96 i hope you realize the term "japs" wasn't used in a negative manner in my comment, but i understand it brings out bad feelings for you just because of a bad ww2 movie... it may have used the term in another way.

  • i suggest, spelling first before numbers!!!!

  • what the?

  • LOL CALCULATOR FAIL

  • 変な英語!!

  • typical hairstyles

  • "caluclatior" i love that!

  • what he say the number,,,

  • aaah so cute

  • lol "winna" i wanna visit japan so bad.

  • I think they want an altercation with us

  • very cool

  • Calculéitor

  • @jenn1ifer Racist bitch.

  • Abacus is fast if you know how to use it, but if he was using a regular calculator not on his phone, it would be faster to just press the numbers in.

  • what is caluclatior???? :D

  • TASCHENRECHNER

  • abacus are fast if a old chinese grandpa uses it ;)

  • ROREX!

  • roladex, rolaids

  • Calculatior! But's normal, they're japanese...

  • Cletten: "Calculatior! But's normal.."

    No, it's "Caluclatior".

The spelling is correct in Engrish way. ^_^

Japanese spend more time designing new and more reliable cars, cameras and don't have time to learn English(or any other languages). When they start to speak English, the quality of their products may drop, so better not push it.

  • Anglophones never learn any other language. At least these guys are trying.

  • @guantamanera Obviously because our language is the best.

  • @guantamanera SPANISH: estoy de acuerdo contigo DUTCH: ik ben eens met jouw

ENGLISH:i agree PAPIAMENTO: bo tin rason and the list can go on....

what do anglophones SPEAK......... SPANGLISH :P

  • @guantamanera no, no, its worse! its caLuClatIOr...

  • Nice Watch~ <3

The abacus calculation was actually pretty simple though... I thought it would be some hardcore, speed listening stuff...

    Awesome Video! Nonetheless

  • read the greenboard: CALCULATIOR

  • it says caluclatior ^^

  • oh yeah, right! haha! even when i try to correct someone, I make mistakes!!

haha, sorry , good attention ;)

  • it Caluclatior!!! learn how to spell!!! :P hehehe!

  • @mortifact You're clearly a complete moron. It doesn't even say CALCULATIOR. Before you criticise others, how about making sure you're not making a total goon of yourself!

  • @sandmandj You first need to learn what Criticism is. It's a kind of feedback, not a random statement i made. I just mentioned that it said Calculatior, and indeed, i made a mistake saying calculatior instead of caluclatior. but the point is..have you really got nothing esle to do than checking if I spelled 1 WRONG LETTER on someone elses his video??!! DUDE! go play WOW in your moms basement and eat bagels! you really need a job or a girlfriend..(which i doubt you'll ever get with this attitude)

  • lmao japanese people

  • ROLEX!

  • calculator

  • Caluclatior, a winnar is you!

  • Caluclatior

  • If there was an expert working the abacus, and a japanese man saying numbers in trillions, then the abacus would beat the calculator by far. You just need the right people.

  • Abacus is best. when you practice with it a for a few months. you have a mental picture of it, then you wont need it. and just pop the questions with your mind abacus

  • Calculator by far. These kids on the Abacus move a lot faster than those on the calc. They need to compare the two instruments with decent users. I've beaten my teacher 26 times in a row my calculator vs. his Abacus .

  • not to mention the calculator being used is a cell phone. I don't know about other people, but I can use a real calculator a couple dozen times faster than on my phone. Hearing these problems, I would probably be done by the time the question was done.

  • Caluclatior es una calculadora pero mas avanzada como es de Japon ahi las cosas son al revez

  • q dijeron!?

  • dif language. duh dude

  • Experienced Abacus User Vs. Guy Trying to use the clumsy pad on his cell phone and the equally clumsy built-in calculator.

Gee, I wonder who wins that one ._.

  • calculator spelled wrong

  • It's hoaxed that the abacus is faster than an ordinary calculator for basic calculation. I wonder if that's really true. Practice an ordinary calculator with a good not too small keyboard and that can be extremely fast too. Just like when teenagers doing SMS - it's all about practice for speed. But "of course" the Soroban is faster than the mediocre calculator found in cell phones without buttons for this and that.
