I want to thank you so much for this sweet, simple demo. We have an electric start snowthrower and for the life of me I can't figure out why my husband insists on pulling his arm out of the socket (practically) whenever he does it. He's not here, and I needed to get the snow off the drive, and God bless you, I got it done. Thank you, thank you!!
they need to invent cheap to build ni-cd corldless unit! or lithium ion with some way of warming the batterys cause li-ion dont perform well in cold but the lightweightness is nice! but dragging a cord is inconvenient and impossiible in many cases

One thing I just hate is the extension cords get stiff in cold weather. They already have really light air hoses now, so a cold weather cord must be out there.
I really want to get this snowblower but my driveway is like 5 feet from my neighbors do you think if I angled the chute as low as possible it would still throw snow onto my neighbors driveway?

@rctyd5 Dude I hate comments like yours, you must be a democrat. Where your gas is powered demo? Don’t have any kids; we have enough lame people in this world from poor parenting. You’re an idiot!
The Toro 1800 is notorious for broken belts. The key is to keep snow to about 3 inches about a time. For 12 inches, shave the snow a little at a time from the top. I learned the hard way
Very good demo. It seems to do best in fresh snow. This is the first Youtube demo of the Toro 1800 Power Curve Electric Snowthrower that clearly shows I can turn the throwing angle to a hard right or left if I want to. The video production looks like a good father and daughter bonding time. :-)
beats shoveling, some people have that luxury of a gas powered one, but for 7 inchs or less that lil blower works great and probably only uses about $1 of electric to clear a typical driveway. i myself have a 42 inch mounted on front of a garden tractor, but i have 600 feet of paved driveway, Great vid!
About a week (but it's snowed 3 times since then. :)
It's a great product - electric snowblowers have come a long way and it's just a matter of time before they gain more of a foothold in places such as Minnesota.
That little thing works pretty good for it's size. Just need a very long extension cord. How much power does it pull under load?

how much did this run and do you know if you can do this on gravel parking lots?

Is this Jim from the office? no, but it looks like it could use a longer handle to turn the blower chute.

How many cords have you chewed up? I'm picking up one of these from Home Depot Tuesday, hope it's worth the money.

@BubbaHoTep01 Not one, not yet. :) It's been working for two years without a problem.

how does it work on the thicker stuff?
jaydarrow 3 years ago
Pretty good. We had seven inches of powder the other day and it did that just fine.
The plow went by and pushed a bunch of wet stuff into a foot and a half high wall and I had to make two passes, but other than that it did just fine.

These machines have been around since about 1990, I believe. I have one from 1991 and it still is going strong.

You're right - 1990 was their first year. Hey it'd be interesting to see a vid of yours in action!
