in the movie, Nelson was carrying either and M240 or M60 Medium Machine Gun, Twombly had the M249 SAW.

Yeah Nelson was a 60 gunner, I cant really tell but I think its the M60E3 which is the lighter M60 and yeah Twombles had the M249 haha he had a 200 rnd drum on that thing too instead of the 100 rnd box mag which makes it heavier

@TripleNipple3 Negative, Nelson had the regular old M60 model, same as used in Vietnam. Army troops never had any of the other models or "Marks" ever issued before starting to be replaced by the M240B only about a year and a half after 1993. The M60E3 or E4 models were issued to the Marine Corps or Navy only.

Actually...

Both LMG's were 7.62x51, meanining that that Nelson carried the M60-E2, and Twombly the M240 (not sure of variation, M240A is coaxial... M240B has a different buttstock... M240C is coaxial that feeds from the right, ejects to the left...) Could be the Bravo variant... that WAS 1993

but it was a long time ago i watched that movie, and in my eyes, the M240 could have also been it.
