i HATE how people with no knowledge of science can say nobel prizes are a joke. (okay, maybe the peace prize), but the Science prizes do have merit and are awarded to scientists with significant impact.

Being a scientist, i can say, we don't envy those who win the prize, but admire as it is very hard to get such positive results. And these science projects are NOT a joke

Unfortunately, even today a discrimination against the non-us scientists exists to publish in prestigious journals. For example it is much easier to publish to publish if you are from Harvard, Yale and MIT etc than from University of Tokyo. So I can't imagine what kind of discrimination was done during those times. That's said a published article is necessary to back his invention

@phil8888 True, but what if the parents are unable to conceive naturally. My wife had her tubes removed and without IVF we would not be able to have our own children. I agree with you on the un-implanted eggs, but you do also have the option of donating them, or using them at a later date.

We cannot always get everything we want, and sometimes have to trust in God to provide. I believe there are too many moral perils with IVF. However, I do not wish to put down your family.
