i was one of the stress-testers 1 month before the server has been launched commercially! Then i took 3-months membership but i only played for 6 months...I think i miss playing this game, even if the graphics might look dated now. I remember how stupidly-expensive and hard it was to get those "Tertius" or "Secundus" or "Primus" armor pieces, and how you were begging around for buffs to boost your specs to be able to equip a gun, lol!!
I really wish this game was more popular than WoW right now. I would be sitting and playing it, partying with other people Two reasons I don't play it now, though:
1) Not a lot of players :'(
2) The combat is a little slow paced, I wish it was fixed.
Anyone know if the servers are still running? And if they are, is anyone even around? Im thinking about making a new account and starting over. I still havent done a slideshow of the neutral and Clan cities :).
@LotusDragon09 Servers are still up, and there are a bunch of people around. You'll see them everywhere. Not so much, but you'll see a few when walking from Rome Red to Gallway Shire. There are places where people are packed (like Rome Basic Shop)
The cities in omni tek are seriously as big as cities in real kife i mean WTF i lost myself in a really huge omni tek city i coudlnt find the way back to the whompahs :( damn took so long to walk through the city. I find it super strange that clan has such small cities and even the capital city of clan is very small compared to omni tek's hugies.
Yeah, the Clans have small cities. Although their capitol, Old Athens, is supposedly an old Omni-Tek city. I read about it on the website. I dont think Omni-Tek's cities are as big as real life cities though, but they are still pretty big compared to the Clan.
I like the vid but i HATE omni-tek... my character was first clan then changed to omni then back to clan...a real adventure if u ask me. anyway nice vid.
@LotusDragon09 thats cause you backstab and smell. OT also stands for Order and Technology of which clams seriously lack in. Omni-Tek is your Friend @.@
Ah, memories. I still remember when you had to choose between Omni and Clan(or neutral) from the beginning, and began right into the major cities' training areas. Those areas still exist, though, and I almost began crying when I visited them some time ago. Really. Aw. *Missing*
Best MMO ever in terms of complexity, and depth. Love the game and its style. I would absolutely love to see AO2 and I've wanted it since 2004! This game has run 7 years and is due to see a graphics enhancement. I hope there is an AO2, with possibly everyone able to play together by interplanetary transportation. Open it up to all the latest refinements to the MMO genre and let it rip.
Anarchy online was the BEST mmorpg ever made... i still have the client installed on my PC, i log in every once in awhile just take a stroll down memory lane....god i miss those good old days, back when AO was just released in 2001.
This game doesn't need a sequel, it needs to be updated.
I played Tabula Rasa, and the combat isn't much to get excited about, even though it's the best part about this game.
Once they do the environment update, they need to work on the player models, armor, UI, and combat to make this game pack a real new and hard hitting punch.

The feeling of playing AO in 2001 is such a unique thing, i'm very proud to share it secretly with few people all over the world.
The others will never understand, that is was, like being there :)

It's not entirely dead, but not in it old glory either. Somewhat decent amount of players around...

My favorite game ever. I so wish they'd make a sequel to Anarchy Online, with Tabula Rasa's combat...
But I know it'll never happen. :(
