  • due batteristi nettamente diversi...ma tra i due preferisco gavin.

  • Gavin is good but Jeff is the best. Sound is better on Jeffs its more natural and probably analog.

  • hm... I feel like Jeff is more of those musicians who don't learn, were born knowing, you know what I mean? And Gavin is like those who learn and practice, got all those technics and wild skills... I disagree with the guy that said that Harrison sounds fake. For me he sounds completly awesome, too much technical, but awesome, and it's exacly his technics that makes me love his stile... while Jeff sound more fluent, natural and stuff. In the end, I prefer Gavin. I'm crazy about his drumming!

  • Hmm hard to say, but talkin about the sound difference; I prefer the sound of Jeff...It's much more open en natural as it's suppose to be...Gavin's sound is too fake in my opinion..It's very good, but too fake.

Also drumming wise I prefer Jeff's version. He is just unbeatable when it comes to laying a groove which is perfect for the song...His feel for timing and taste in fills is unforgettable.

  • Gavin is far away more technical than Jeff but few drummers can keep a groove like Jeff

  • Personally, I prefer Jeff's groove (e.g. where he places his bass drum and snare drum beats and how he plays his hi-hat.) Also I feel Jeff's groove is way more laidback. Lastly, Jeff basically stays on the groove, ocassionally wandering off to do a fill of some sort. To me, Gav wanders off the groove to do big fills a bit too much for my liking. Just my opinion. But I'm not taking anything away from Gav! What an incredible drummer that man Gavin Harrison is!

  • Far out this is hard. Both absolutely awesome but I think I actually prefer the sound of Jeff's kit. Wow never thought I would say that.

  • well gavin said in an interview that jeff porcaro and steve gadd were his heroes..

  • gavin and jeff are two of the most influencial drummers i ever seen!

  • gavin harrison just plays everything so beautifully no matter what is it. Jeff Porcaro sounds good, but gavin harrison just..... he just..... he's just.....

  • This video makes clear the evolution in drum´s sound quality. The Porcaro´s Pearl sounds awful besides de Harrison´s Sonor.

  • @GiovanniAv Dude, Jeff's Snare is killer!

  • @Bonhamman90 Well, I agree. The Free Floating Pearls are great.

  • no existe comparacion posible, son dos bateristas de escuelas diferentes, hay muchos años entre ellos, claramente Gavin fue influenciado por Jeff

  • C'est vrailent parfait et quel son ! bravo

  • I actually prefer Jeff's take on it. I feel that although Gavin is a DAMN GOOD drummer, I feel like he's over playing in certain places.

  • @Bonhamman90 I feel that Jeff's onw seems empty sometimes but that is just me, anyway you can hear the influence from jeff' on gavin playing.

  • Nice laid back feel on Jeff's though.

    Fox.

  • Gavin all the way but Porcaro was no slouch.

  • slippin away is like the perfect tune to train your timing, your rhythmic variations, and your fill improvisation aswell as your creativity

  • @c0d3x001 agreed...!!

  • There's are differences between the 2. For one the time frame when the 2 where recorded makes Gavin's part sound better. However, I see some of Jeff's influences in Gavin's playing. Gavin is probably one of the best out there now.

  • You can't argue with Gavin's precision.

  • Both are gods but I still prefer Gav! :)

  • gavin harrison ftw! :)
