Why does the avg person get so jealous when another avg worker gets a little bonus??? This guy is not going to support/buy any general motors products, because it paid it's employees who have taken concessions since the 1970's instead he's going to help China, or Korea??? I will always buy American made products first...this bozo can go live in China, where he supports those people!
I work at gm and I am not in the union because they suck. The problem now is the unions are only fighting for themselves. What is happening with us has been coming for a long time now. Unions should be fighting to bring our jobs back to the US. This way our wages would rise naturally. Normal american's can't find jobs and we are crying about our wage. FIGHT TO BRING THE JOBS BACK!You wanna sell a product here, fine but you must build it here. Besides the UAW leaders are in the back pocket of gm
@USAGymnast That should tell you that you've swallowed the propaganda whole sweetie. Obama is no leftist, he is a moderate, just left of center as Bill Clinton was. When you are ignorant of reality as you are you will always be confused as you are over this.
@USAGymnast Actually I have no leftist agenda sweetie. That's another of your lies. I support businesses and corporations that DO give back to the community, take very good care of their employees and contibute to charitable causes. I've been around a lot of wealthy people in my life and not one of them thinks as you do. They know that God blessed them and they share those blessings. They all made their wealth paying higher taxes too. That's when they had ethical accounting and civic pride.
@USAGymnast Funny how you say they don't have a stake of their own money in the company sweetie when they, as taxpayers, actually do. Yes, I do believe if a government bails out a company it should have a say in how that money is used and what steps the company is taking toward correcting the issues that led to the need.
No sweetie, us moderates aren't masquerading as anything we're not....that's your agenda speaking lies again.
@USAGymnast I'm well aware how people in finance have ripped off the rest of the country and expected us to bail them out. I'm well aware of how the auto finance business and home mortage business works sweetie. They chose greed over prudence and it bit them hard. Yeah you accountants have really fleeced the country in the last couple of decades....you've had more scandals than politicians sweetie.
Funny how you call yourself PropagandaBuster. Yet like any good propaganda in this video you throw around cherry picked facts and buzz words like "bonuses" and "bailout". While never giving even half of the actually story you're supposedly talking about.
Fact of the matter is GM had a profitable year they had around 1 billion in revenue. God-forbid they share 135 million of that with the workers that made it possible (for the first time in 6 years by the way) in this tough economic time.
@USAGymnast Oh honey...now that's funny! You've never backed up a thing you've ever said and now you say I didn't give you example of bad management.
I did but will expand. The Cadillac Cimarron, the Cadillac Cetera, their 8/6/4 engine, Hummer, Pontiac Aztec, 2nd generation Malibus and just about any of GM's small cars like their Sunfire and Grand Am were all poor. I can easily go on if you wish. You don't drive a Chevy Citation do you?
No marxism sweetie, just not an extremist puppet like you
@USAGymnast GM is selling cars and making money sweetie....the Volt isn't what GM is banking on sweetie.....you don't survive in the auto industry with one car....you have to offer cars that fit the needs of multiple types of people.....you finance people don't know what sells.
Do unions have the power to keep non performing plants open sweetie?
@USAGymnast You don't have to be an accountant to understand finance sweetie....you give yourself far too much credit. Accountants don't have exactly a squeaky clean image these days either.
@USAGymnast Sweetie I'm sorry but you seem to be stuck in the 1800's where you could rule the people you employed, hire children and make them work in whatever conditions you wish. The really great business leaders give back to society for their good fortunes and care for their workers.
Personal integrity is something I do have sweetie. I have good friends both republican and democrat who would back that up. I do tend to distance myself from extremists like you who put agenda ahead of country.
um Hello, Built Ford Tough bailout free for Liberty.
P.S. In order to defend himself and his company from government interference, Henry Ford hired mobs to defend his company, he was quite the Libertarian and very American.
um Hello, Built Ford Tough bailout free for Liberty.
P.S. In order to defend himself and his company from government interference, Henry Ford hired mobs to defend his company, he was quite the Libertarian and very American.
@USAGymnast The decision by GM to continue to concentrate on Suburbans and 450 HP Cadillacs and Pontiacs had nothing to do with the UAW sweetie...it was pure bad vision and poor choices by their management.
Obama didn't tolerate GM asking for bailout without a change in atmosphere and focus. You can now see that your argument is as weak as GM's upper managements has been for the past 3 decades as they are making cars which attract more buyers....business 101 instead of yesterdays laurels.
@USAGymnast Maybe you fail to grasp sarcasm, but in my demented mindset, I don't believe that laborers should be paid more than the engineers who manage them simply because they belong to a union. If they are paid more, it's because of merit, not their membership in a union.
@USAGymnast You're really showing your brainwash today..you've been listening to too much radio sweetie. You keep spewing crap that has no substance to it. "The left act's like the owners of a company shouldn't get to decide how to run it"? What a ridiculous comment..another one that you can't substantiate. You should someday become involved more with people who value personal integrity instead of agenda and power. Your complete disregard for the truth and your false accusations are sickening.
@USAGymnast I've never said or believed that an unskilled laborer should get paid more than an accountant sweetie...that's a lie. You've proven to be quite the liar sweetie.
As I said previously even labor unions need reform...just as the management at GM needed reform. I know this is hard to grasp and Glenn Beck probably hasn't mentioned it but GM started making crap well before the unions and their pensions became the burdens they are now.
@USAGymnast The UAW doesn't create mediocrity sweetie...they don't design the vehicles. While there needs to be reform in unions they aren't the evil entities as you suggest. There isn't a person or business that shouldn't self evaluate & change. People like you blame the American auto worker for problems and absolved the corporate leadership who refused to innovate. You and your type rest on others past accomplishments refusing to invest and innovate.. and point fingers when mediocrity sets in.
With their bonuses, they can afford more booze and dope to use on their lunch breaks. Don't forget the biggest bonus of all - our glorious leader gave the UAW BILLIONS of dollars worth of GM stock - FREE!!! It then sold off part of this stock at the IPO for a hefty chunk of change. The investors got screwed and the UAW got another free ride with "Obama Money. "
@USAGymnast The most important action the government took when they took over GM sweetie was to find leadership that would focus on designing and making vehicles that were innovative, higher quality and more efficient. When you design crap like GM has done for so long...labor costs aren't the main problem. It had to take Obama telling them that if they wanted to borrow taxpayer money to survive....they had to have a plan to change from mediocrity to leadership. It's worked.
and good on you for not buying their cars ..this is what we all need to do stop helping the massive organistations get bigger and help the middle man small businesses struggling to keep their head above the water.
I don't blame you Propo....but GM long before Obama came around, began to try and fool Americans into thinking they had a good product. So did all of the other American manufacturers. We went from being the technological and excitement leaders to marketing mediocrity.
Detroit long ago went with "looks just like a Mercedes" but was a shell of one. Remember the "Caddy that zigs" like the european cars that didn't. Remember the Cimmaron the Caddy that had the worst resale value in history?
Don't forget that AIG and Wall Street bonuses and the AIG executives got real man's pedicures on the taxpayer's dime. Though I understand what you said in this video, I wish that you would have criticized them on a video at that time too. I do not believe bonuses whether AIG or UAW should be paid out when a company has borrowed money. The only difference I see is the AIG execs are sidewalk sissies and these union guys are not.
UAW is the real f'd up deal. Even with BK court they some how forced GM to still keep the contracts that are way over inflated. They must be connected to all the California public workers unions who won't take a pay cut either.
@daddyoca69 This is America ...you can buy any brand of car you wish. Smart people buy vehicles which are longer lasting, dependable, more technologically advanced and hold their resale value better than the ones they choose not to. For decades and even today Japanese and now Korean manufacturing companies were just that....a smarter purchase for most of the vehicles they make.
Yes the US is catching up...but they're not there yet. The unions didn't destroy Detroit...mediocrity & excuses did.
Including local, state and federal, I heard the government is the largest union employer. I see a similarity between the UAW and our Gov't in that they've both become outdated and overpriced. When GM was on the verge of bankruptcy, the Feds were there to save them. With the deficit out of control, my question is who's gonna save our Gov't when it happens to them?
When Obama talks about "shovel ready projects" or "Rebuilding our infrastructure" (Sounds good right?) What he's really doing is pumping money into the Unions (Communist front) They in turn as a thank you, work the grass movement for his election. Unions are like parasites that feed off the host till it's
dead then looks for another victim!
(Anyone taking note that the Air port security system is going Union?) This is so any given Airport across the country can NOT opt out and hire a privateCo
Tony does that mean that the hourly worker and retiree who gave up plenty should be penalized because you don't care for the UAW and Obama and the GM thugs, I don't care for them either but I will support the hourly worker before I support some company that is 100% foreign even if they have plants here in the USA. It's a crying shame that greed and the government have destroyed our great nation.
