His time would have been faster if he would have done crossovers behind the second net as well. To skate fast you can never stop moving your feet.

More on Simmonds...
He is quick in all 3 areas--Feet, hands
and mind (i.e.hockey sense).
I say he's got a solid chance to move up to
top 6 FW status on The Kings within 2 more seasons, and maybe even next season, if his scoring really goes up.
With a little more strength/mass, and a bit more polish on his shot, this kid could
move up FAST.

Wow. 9 Months after my last post and a new NHL FW is born!
He bagged 23 points & he was used mostly in defensive situations. He is very effective on defense and the PK, he is adept at
the takeaway,
his offense has improved steadily, and he plays probably 20 lbs above his weight (which is good, because he's still around
the low 180s).
When he gets up to 195 lbs, he'll probably
play like he's 215-20 lbs!
Keep your eye on this kid!!

The Kid is fast, tough and talented.
Only 1 year in the AHL needed ('08-09)
& he'll be ready to rock the NHL.
