    Safety, at this competition in nthe past they have pulley launch from engine bays at high speed, having the bonnet down provides some protection.

    It popped an O-ring out of an injector. High pressure fuel spray + really hot turbocharger = 10 foot flames. :)

    Luckily the damage was superficial, they had it running 30mins later.
