you have to run right up to the corner to chuck a grenade in there, ive had plenty of times where ppl would not come near (bc I had sword or hammer on a custom game) and the grenades would not go into the little spot, and even if they came close, all you have to do is back yourself into a corner and the grenades wont even touch you most of the time, I usually die in there bc someone runs in the corner and gets a direct hit by sticking me.

I dont know if you can on the PC but you can get out the same way you got in on the 360 (by crouching.) You can even crouch under the side of the ramp and stop while you're getting out. This will allow you to shoot at enemies and go back in for cover when you need to.
