I enjoy all of the coldplay songs. I love the newer stuff and the old stuff. My first album was VLV and then I worked back so I don't know if it is just me because I did not follow them from the beginning. I also love Prospekts march! Especially Glass of water! I can't wait until the full version of the CD comes out! None the less: Coldplay Rule!

Personally I love the old Coldplay, and the B-sides through the Rush of Blood era... It's almost like a totally separate bands. Wonder which one they want to be (is it them or the record company making the choice?).

The problem I have is that Coldplay seems to be intentionally dumbing down their ambitions in order to sell or a larger public. Parachutes is pure sounds album, X&Y is polluted with dollar signs, poor production values, and weak lyrics. Stepping forward is progression; they digressed. VLV is a lateral...
RadioMuse1, VLV is their most complex album yet. Also the album closest to the brilliance of Radiohead. Just check out 42, if the middle section of that song doesn't remind you at least a little bit 'bout Radiohead, then I give up.
You say you're a Radiohead-fan. I'm guessing you mean pre-Kid A? Sounds like it.. :)

If you don't know the history of X&Y look into it: they were recording an album and then scrapped it for "artistic reasons" and slapped together the album itself in just a couple months time. The stronger songs were "left over" from the first sessions.
@SimVik91 You obviously aren't a real Coldplay fan. Viva La Vida is good, but it isn't as good as X&Y, or A Rush of Blood to the Head, or Parachutes, or Brothers & Sisters. Their older albums are the best. and Parachutes and AROBTTH are incredible albums, and X&Y is great.
@HaloBeagle Well, I would say that overall, in my opinion, Viva La Vida is along side Parachutes as their best album, in terms of overall quality. If you go by commercial success, Viva La Vida ODAAHF is their best album, but, just by quality, I would say its between that or Parachutes. Granted, X & Y, Parachutes, and ROBTTH have the 3 songs (Shiver, Clocks, Square 1) That are in contention for my favorite song of all time, I would say VLAODAAHF is their best overall album.
@conquestvideos I honestly cannot agree, it is a very good album, but Parachutes & A Rush of Blood to the Head are the best, I do not actually really care for Brothers & Sisters, and X&Y and VLADODAAHF are about the same.

This is by far their best song .... then again .. EVERY coldplay song is awesome
