Well, honestly, this little movie was made in a pretty low-tech way. The flickering I think you're talking about, at 3:23, was created by placing a strobe light just off screen as I shot the still image. At 3:26, what you're seeing is obviously just a strobe light, again just off screen, aimed at the character and shot with a slightly higher exposure so that the character's features are blown out.
