I was in the OLT and one of the tornadoes passed right over us. It sounded like water boiling over in a pot with the lid on. It was over in seconds and not as loud as I was expecting so I thought it wasn't so bad. Then I got outside and saw the parking lot...
Me, my grandparents, and my cousin's son was on the porch watching it go by.It was a good mile or so away. It looked a lot more like a big black cloud then a tornado. At least Mena's recovered and its almost hard to tell that we were hit.
@TheMrZeldafan oh yeah their idiots because they want to protect their families when a tornado is brewing in their hometown. so if anything, your the idiot. dont insult people in my hometown
Hard to believe it has been a year. The same sort of weather is forcast for today. They don't call it tornado alley for nothing. Some people get earthquakes, some people get floods, some get huracaines, We all get something.
i like how your all calm clint, and at the end " COME ON LETS GO!" funny, i recorded the actual sound of the tornado when it hovered above us at US Motors, but you can here older men yelling like little girls more than the humming of the tornado. i use to live behind the Masonic lodge and I lost my house and some sort of debris shatterd my back windshield, but my insurance wont cover it. so i know cruise mena with Green duct tape on it. good times.
i was in fort smith when it happend... we didnt see that tornado but we did see something that looked a little bit like a funnel... not sure if it was though... great video... can u send me a message telling me if it hit your house? and where did u go?
Wow i lived there awhile back and go back all the time. I have friends and family that live there and all i can say is thank god they are alive and well. I heard wal-mart got hit pretty hard and if so does that house on the hill near it still stand. Anywho glad u all are ok and my heart goes out to the 3 families who lost someone in this disaster
I live in fayetteville. The sky was completly green up here. I knew there was a tornado somewhere. Same thing happened last year in atkins when i drove through that tornado. Sky was as green as grass.
Glad you and your family are ok. Thanks for posting this video on youtube as it will be a reminder of why you should take shelter in tornadic situations. I used to storm chase Southeast Oklahoma and Southwest Arkansas very dangerous i those mountains during tornadoes.
Holy crap that was scary. Luckily I live in Hatfield and it missed us. I'm lucky none of my family and friends were hurt, and I hope everyone is o.k. and Mena can rebuild.
I live in Fort Smith and our hearts are with the town of Mena. Please let the citizens know we are loading trucks of supplies for our Arkansan family to our south. Stay strong and God bless you all.
Thanks... I hear there is a big need for diapers right now. But earlier we needed lots of boxes... and we got more than we needed. Thanks to box plants in Ft. Smith. The needs are changing.
This is a great shot and I see that channel 5 contacted you and now I am seeing that channel 5 is going to air it. My parents live out in Potter on Aldersprings road and they are fine. thanks for this posting

No it didn't hit our house. It was a lot farther away than it looks due to it's size. It was a good 1/2 mile away at its closest.

The clouds with circulation came past Talhina going more east than north. The funnel clouds were going back into the main cloud when caught them.
