@KruegerLot Hi, configuring the network settings and firewall rules depend very much on your local WiFi hardware and is very much different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Please make sure that ports 1900 UDP and 2869 TCP are open - plus the ports required by your local DLNA server, e.g. like 5001 (PS3 Media Server) or e.g. 50001/50002 for Synology NAS.
Having problems with the app, it will not recognize my TX-NR709, I have a D-Link DIR-655 wifi and a D-link WAP DAP1522. My TX-NR709 shows up on my network and I can stream music in the NET > DLNA setting to the 709. Very frustrating.
@Cdvision2 Hi, as stated before - in order to identify the source of the problem, please try to deactivate any limiting factors likes MAC address filtering, firewall deny rules, etc on your wifi access point / router. Once this is working, activate one by one - and testing with the app in between - to find out that is breaking communication between the AVR and the app. If you do not succeed, please get in touch with our customercare_eu@eu.onkyo.com to further dig into this issue.
@rosenerik Hi, could you try it without the UWF-1 wireless dongle, just connecting AVR with a regular ethernet cable to the switch/hub? Also, please check the firewall/filter settings of your wi-fi access point (AP) / wi-fi, eventually switching off any filtering for testing purposes. If the problem persists, please contact our customer support at customercare_eu@eu.onkyo.com . Thanks!
"ALLLLL" built in airplay receivers SUCK when it comes to sound quality. Your better off using an iPod USB cord. Or my favorite, you can buy a APPLE iPod Dongle and have it plugged into the reciever, now you can play wireless QUALITY music from any ipod device 30FT away. built in airplay receivers suck , buy an Apple ipod dongle for the receiver. its a MUST HAVE
This app looks amazing. I tried using te apple app and it was HORRIBLE so I ditched that asap lol. This is great news as I'm finally dropping iOS for Android ICS.
@AtomicAutopsy Hi, we are evaluating this topic, but as for know, there is no Onkyo Remote App for Windows Phone 7 available (and we cannot promise that there will be one).
@ OnkyoEU : My AVR is connected to a ethernet hub and not directly to my router. Because of this, the app doesn't seem to detect the AVR in the network. Any way you know to get this sorted?
@kjelle94 It is not required to directly connect to a router - the AVR can also be connected to a hub, as long as the access point / WLAN router is connected to the same physical network. Depending on your WiFi router/Access Point it might be required to check the firewall/security settings to allow communication between the App and the AVR.
Im about to buy the Onkyo TX-NR609 but have one more question regarding the app for Android. Is it possible to scroll through the music files on my ipod, which is conected to the Onkyo using a apple universal docking station, with the android app on my HTC desire?
@raecarter82 Hi, TX-NR509 is supported - as well as: all TX-NR*09 (2011 network AVR models) and TX-NR*08 (2010 network AVR models), plus TX-8050 network stereo receiver and T-4070 network tuner.
@bammortgage Unfortunately Rhapsody is not available here in Europe - could you get in touch with Onkyo's US team to clarify if this feature is available in the US? E.g. by Facebook or by web contact form:
Recently i ordered Onkyo BD-SP309. Not sure if this app got support to remote the BD-SP309 player (?) because of the simple reason it's not been shipped from my local store yet.
Hopefully BD-SP309 can connect through HDMI 1.4(ethernet) to take advantage of TX-NR709's Internet so i don't have to get a cable now when i bought the UWF-1.
However, looking forward to Divx-HD and to stream media from the PC directly to BD-SP309 as well as stunning blu-ray quality!
Compared to it's sibling (iPhone app) Android's app is a masterpiece! Interface is pedagogic, easy to understand and graphics is awesome. Candy for the eye, something to be proud of and really a must for me as Onkyo TX-NR709 owner.
Current software is v0.11b (beta) but very operational. Some things don't work as intended. Amplifier might drop the connection, you have to restart the amplifier in order for it to work again. Final version is planned to be released in October.
@4m03 Hi, please note that you will have to "slide" the finger over the large enter button in order to navigate in the menue (e.g. do not "press" up and down arrows, but "slide"/"move" up and down).
How do you exactly set it up? Sure it's enable the internet and all that, but how?
It's not manual like the Onkytroller or the iOS version and I don't know what I am doing wrong.
