I bought the album off the shelf of WH Smiths at the Elephant and Castle when I was thirteen and put it on the record player when I got home.

Hearing those twin guitars on the intro was like listening to a sound I never even imagined could exist.. There was nothing like around then, or anything in music to give you a clue a sound like this could be made, it was one of those true defining moments of my life....... for the last 30 years it's been nothing but raw, catchy, fast punk/metal.

IRon Maiden history says that in the start, the band consisted of Paul DAY, Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Dennis Straton, and i don't remember the drummer, i think it was Clive Burr... They Kicked Paul Day because he couldn't hold the audience even though he was a great singer. He was replaced by some self-good shithead. He was Kicked from the band and replaced by Paul Di'Anno, who had both good woice and kept the audience. He left the band in '82.

However this track was also in a even erlier EP that came before their first album, still with di`anno though.., but in that wersion the tempo is slighty slower

Why are all the photos from post Di'Anno era - it's like two different bands and they shouldn't be connected - I loved their first two albums and first few singles - saw them at the Marquee May 1980 - brilliant. Stratton going was a knockback - then when Di'Anno went I just totally lost interest.
