  • WAS EXPOSED TO AND INFLUENCED BY THIS ICON FROM THE AGE OF 16 BACK IN 71

FELA will never be forgotten by America/Naijah off spring

Long Live the rythum of Nigerian Funk

  • the power the message the sense the love of life the music the drum the dance of beloved FELA continues to inspire and awake and lead us out of the darkness populated by the insane the corrupt greedy the bad rich the pundits the parasites and the destroyers of all that is beautiful true free and good. i was born in surrey england but FELA LIVES in my hearts.... lets go people.

  • LIVED IN LAGOS DURING THIS PERIOD,CAN YOU BELIEVE THE GOOD SHAPE THIS WOMEN WERE?REMEMBER THIS WAS IN THE 70S.THEY WAY AHEAD OF ALL OF US.THEY WERE GENIUSES.PIONEERS THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE.

  • REVOLUTION

    PATRIA O MUERTO

  • FORMIDABLE, un chef d'oeuvre, Le Roi de l'Afro-Beat

  • revolution

  • Fela the great.!! Great man of the people.

  • This guy was so good @ predicting the future. All the things he said is whats happening today in Nigeria.

  • Haha 3:05 looked like Fela wanted to slap one of his band members. Such a perfectionist!

  • Who did these subtitles? They're so wrong lol.

  • The subtitles are just so wrong...doesn't do justice to such a great song.

  • Long Live The Legend... Fela u Represent the People...And a True African u Were... Omo Iya Aje!

  • long live baba

  • FELAAAA dem never agree ooooo, we still dey colonial mentality, we never get agreenent, sorrow, tears and blood still dey, WATER still be our enemy ooo, army arrangement still dey go on dem still dey shakara us, dem still dey STEAL for dis 2010, dem still be ZOMBIE and our women sill dey YELLOW FEVER BLEACHING ooo. • The work and genius of Fela is still relevant even in today's world. May he still continue to inspire us from Ikole Orun. Praise! Praises! Praises!

  • baba u too much

  • Sorry to say this, but na GANJA dey talk !!!!!

  • Fela the only truthful prophet nigeria has produced all this present day pastors and pentecostal preachers are sycophants and bootlickers exploiting the illetracy and poverty in nigeria to get rich

  • Unfortunately Naija still stayed the same and things are much worse now. Fela cannot be a better predictor of Naija ... now I understand the culture of Nigerian police much better. But, Lagos is actually getting better and fast becoming a mega city.

  • @medbuk80 Mega is a matter of population, not development. Lagos is of a population of 18million, that makes it a megacity.

You still have poor people, slums (Ajegunle)

  • baba Fela lives on

  • Baba Fela Lives ... The Best that ever did it!!!

  • The groove in this song is just awesome. Makes me dance on my chair.

  • I miss Fela, I have been to his Shrine in Lagos. Who else has been there?

    Zik

    Abuja Inc.

  • Did u mean Juju music or juju jaz? Both of them are present in Naija for your information and it is just part of what make it Nigeria. Plus, it should be the least of your concern if u actually follow the confusion Fela is explaining here.

  • xixfunch I was a regular at the shrine's second incarnation at Ikeja Lagos. .walking down Pepple Street where the Club was located was like going into another dimension . A place where you had the inalienable right to be yourself. Hell you could dance down the full length of the street and no one would give you a glance . The very air of the place smelt of freedom. And when Fela held court once procedings began in the club it was like i had died and gone to paradise.

  • i have been always there, every friday with my elder brother,i was once a born again christian, but fela open my eyes to see the reality.its amazing, the earth miss fela

  • gbemisola street,behing computer village,let get there

  • @xixfunch -- i go there at least once a week. lol

  • This is my Fav track of his whole song.

  • whats the meaning of laruku rebeke

  • olden days fella....what a legend!

  • what is this from? is there a whole documentary?

  • this man single handedly said the truth about evrything , both the country, nija, colonialists, and greedy politicians , abuse of power .

fela remains the greatest african icon of all time , he represents the rebel they cudnt destroy ,make his legacy forever remain like the burning flame of time , shine understanding into the closed minds of all africans under oppresion in every form of life ...

  • I couldn't agree with you more, 01chidi. You only need to listen to 'shuffering and shmilling' to agree to us playing 2nd fiddle after the whites. I mean, we believe our 'god' is caucasian which ruined our chance of equality. Have you ever wondered if 'the almighty saviour' was a black man, all the people Fela said are 'miliking, enjoying and gbaladuing' would have been blacks, massive boost for our sense of belonging. Listen to the track as I said it becomes clearer. May he RIP

  • @01chidi Is it Irony that everything he predicted is happening. I wsh he was given a chance to rule Nigeria for once because he has the right recipe for success to rule nigeria and am sure when we have one good leader all african leader will follow suit. Boy how miss him but his music lives on. Long live abami eda, omo iya aje, black president.

  • @princessadekunbi1 , u sure right, id love to have met him in person . I believe in lots of his philosophy.

  • Pafuka like most words in broken english can mean many things depending on the context, it can mean all the things the other users have stated, but more appropriately 'wen sumtin don pafuka' it means that thing has gone 'haywire' or 'broken down'.
