One thing I never noticed until I watched the first two movies back-to-back is how Max is still wearing his leg brace from his tangle with Toecutter & friends in the first movie, even though Part II is implied to take place several years after Part One. (I also like the bit where the Steven Wright-looking guy in the compound oils it for him!) Well played, George Miller!
@Leowen2 I'm guessing 2 Fast 2 Furious is more your speed? Lots of unconvincing CGI, hip hop soundtrack, tough guy trash talking, camera cuts every 1.3 seconds, rappers doing cameos, chicks in bikinis, shit just being thrown across the screen constantly, etc.
@Leowen2 "Well tell me, what makes a film not garbage? I think it all matters where you are at in life, of course it's a little silly if your old as dirt...
@Ragnar6000 miller said that for fury road the budget is gonna be $170 million dollars. no cgi, none of that shit. its gonna be filmed just like the old days. and they want to make 2 more mad max films after fury road.
@squall600 that would be great if its done old school....but now shot in africa bummer!
when you watch mad max 1&2 you can here australian birds in the back ground{which gave those movies that aussie feel} and its the little things like that i think fury road will now miss out on :(
If Vernon Wels was playing his character from Comando in this scene scene, he'd might say something like "I don't need the arrow. I DON"T NEED NO STINKING GUN!!! (Pulls a Knife out and Orgasims) I GONNA KILL YOU NOW!!!!" Followed by "You're getting old Max."
Hollywood hasn't got the balls to make films like this anymore. PG13 has destroyed so many movies it's become a sad joke. This opening shot couldn't be anymore awesome if it tried. Fast, brutal and straight to the fucking point. You just know your in for one hell of a bad ass mutha fucking movie!
@mrlavabeast Agreed. Hollywood can only ruin great films (like this one) with a crap remake.
Hollywood has been in a creative ditch for well over a decade now...I like to blame that hack Michael Bay and all his flunkies, but it's a much bigger problem.
@lhp70 no, if you look very closly at the front end at 1:26 and then when it smashes into the back end of the enemie's car in the next shot, the headlights are different.
This originally was a longer sequence with Max disturbing the Baddies as they were ransacking a farm and stealing fuel from the vehicles (they had hanged the occupants from a tree branch). They took off in pursuit when they saw him and he hit the turbo. Through a couple of cuts we see the pursuers go from 10 to 5 to 3 as only the most powerful vehicles can keep up. This also explains why he ran out of gas so quickly & why he is able to keep going once he's pilfered the tanks of the wrecked cars

fascinating how you get sense of action without so much happening. impossible for todays directors who cant get pass yawns, even with help of CGI, slow motions and all the camera angles they want.
My girlfriend would say why dont they shoot the tires and im like they need those tires i mean 3 top things are 1. Gas 2. Oil 3. Tires that can hold Air pressure am i right?
In the future, rogue cops that never return police vehicles might be one's only hope for salvation. The irony.

The fist 5 minutes of the movie is outstanding then the remainder is pure garbage.

That Landau has a very interesting carburettor setup. Maybe not the best for the desert though, with no filters

I've spotted a movie mistake at 1:26, where the front end of the interceptor looks totally different to the next shot

You simply can't get a better beginning to a film than that, BOOM *zooms out from supercharger*. Epic.

@Oldschoolmetalnrock It's epic! Simple, but you are full of adrenaline, you can really feel wind blowing thru your head and feel the speed!
Pansypunch 1 year ago
@Pansypunch Too right, it's so raw and perfect. Just what an action film should be in my opinion, none of this CGI rubbish.

AudioAndroid 1 year ago
@AudioAndroid No your not.
The only thing they need is gas. Plus, oil is the same thing as gas. Oil is just gas before it's refined.
Saying they need tires is delving a bit more deeper into the story than the movie actually goes.
