  • Original iphone4 promised! You come,we present! G8Gi0 accuc.info

  • oh 8 does the 8 stand for your IQ?

  • he such a jew charging $5 per chain

  • Can you pleas elaborate on what you used the pink wheel for? Thanks in advance.

  • Not necessarily mate.Oregon make a great chain.it's up to the bloke sharpening,if it cuts correctly down to the safety or angle lines.even if they supply a bench sharpener. They actually only supply these grinders because it takes years and hundreds of chains to perfect a hand sharpen.therefor ya can't mess up a chain wen it's set buy the machine.fool proof.a hand sharpen I believe for myself is the best and quickest.time it on my video.- chainsaw sharpening treemonkee066.on site anytime no taki

  • Hi

I hope so. been doing this for 40 years > What I learned was from Oregon so if I am wrong then the company that makes the chain is wrong

  • Not bad atleast ya got your facts right.

Saying that it's the best and fastest is quite bold tho.what works for you is the main thing.have a look at my sharpen mate.under treemonkee066.

  • Thanks!

  • I believe the CBN wheel is what I call the diamond wheel as it is almost as hard as diamonds and is the wheel that I have been using. I just easier for me to say diamond then to say CBN

  • Diamond Wheel is also recommending their CBN wheels. What's your take on these?

  • I should also mention my grinder is a Timber Tuff, 5 3/4" wheel with 7/8" arbor.

  • I am confused by DiamondWheels' list of wheels for chainsaws. My chains are all 3/8" and 1 is 0.325. In the list there are various wheels 1/8 & 3/16. Which one is the one to choose and what's the model number? THX

  • @machold1000

    HI

You would need both wheel to do this right. It would be best to call Diamond Wheel to make sure you get the correct arbor size

  • Don't know their reasoning, but I'm being convinced by Diamond Wheel, confirmed on an Ozzie site as doing less damage to the chain tooth, whereas the pinkies have to take it easy, barely touching the tooth.

  • @machold1000

Hi There is a lot of miss information on how to sharpen saw chain. I have heard all kinds of stories. However I like to test my own ideas. I can tell how something works and how long it takes. then I look for a better and faster way with out going overboard on cost. That bench grinder is30 years old, it is quick and easy to use and with the diamond wheel I get excellent results. Cost less then the autos. I think I can do a chain faster then the autos. Call me JOHN HENRY

  • Arborists tell me diamond wheels are for carbide chains, not steel chains which most of us use. Thanks for the reply.

  • @machold1000

Tell them I been using this type of diamond wheel for 40 years one of us is wrong and it not me.

The body of this wheel is made of aluminum not steel. Aluminum pulls the heat away from the cutter keeping it cool.

If they are using a pink wheel or a round file They will burn the cutters or waist a lot of time

  • @machold1000

    What is there reasoning?

Diamonds are used in many sharpening tools for steel

  • Good video, but I can't see anything that tells me what diamond wheel to buy for my Timber Tuff grinder and my 0,325 and 3/8 chains. Please advise.

  • @machold1000

Just call Diamond wheel they will tell you

  • @donyboy73 Hi depends on the size of the chain 3/8 91 type and 325 take one wheel and 3/8 standard takes the bigger wheel

Diamond wheel has the numbers I think 1/8 and 3/16

  • The wheel is round on the edge not flat. Works just line a 3/16 round file.Been doing it for 40 years

  • @JONSEREDdotWS do you have the cs5 8422 diamond wheel on your oregon 511a ?

  • How can you sharpen a chainsaw blade without a rounded file? I thought the whole idea of why it cuts so good is the C shaped cutting edge.

  • HI

most every thing can be 60 and 30 or 25 just depends. Just make sure you have the depth gauge set to 25 thou

  • hi;i have a jolly sharpener similar to yours can you tell me the angle settings ? thanks, tom

  • Thanks I am looking into a grinder that cost less then the Oregon 511a made by GB Will be posting it soon

Ps not the POS at horraable fraight

  • @JONSEREDdotWS

What do you think of the Oregon grinder with the hydraulic option instead of the manual chain vise?

  • @nossful I think it will wear out fast as there is lots of metal dust in that area

If you keep it clean it may not be a problem.

It does save a step but it is only about 1/4 of a second

  • @JONSEREDdotWS i would like a diamond wheel for my oregon 511a. They have so many diamond wheels. What diamond wheel do i need? What diamond wheel do you have on yours

  • I LOVE your matter of fact presentation, it cuts through all the crap and tells us what we need to know, Thanks!

  • Get both as one will do 325 and the 91 type 3/8 pitch and the other will do standard 3/8 pitch

  • what disk did you buy from diamondwheelinc. I can't decide whether to get the 3/16 or 1/8 depth one.
