My prayers are with those and the families and loved ones of those not so close to home.
As military loved ones, we have to stick together and support each other. We're the only ones that can understand.
So touching! Those serving in the military and their families need as much support as possible, I couldn't imagine being away from my loved one for so long. I watched the documentary "Hell and Back Again" and it really shows how supportive a wife is to her injured husband who returned home from Afghanistan. if more people knew the facts about the war, they would buy 5 copies of this and support the forces. no-one wants to be in a war zone, but it is necessary to help ensure a wider stability. in many areas afghani children are now back at school- education is vital to the bigger picture, it is ignornance that keeps the masses suppressed. forces are fighting for a far reaching peace. they deserve more than we can can give them. well done the brave support crew , those at home, they also serve x x x

You have no idea what the military men and women have to go through so we can live our lives as we do, they deserve much more respect than they get in the real world. I couldn't agree with you more....the lack of respect towards our Veterans in this world is completely uncalled for, unjust and JUST PLAIN WRONG. My friend's son is going over to Afghanistan shortly and I support her and every single Veteran and every single person who puts their life on the line in order for us to live in freedom. Unfortunately too many parents out there do not educate their children pertaining to this.
These women are proud of their husbands and the job they do and we should show our pride alongside them.
Some of these women may never see their loved ones again so the whole country should stand with them and honour them as much as we honour the personnel of our armed forces..

I am an army girlfriend, my boyfriend has just returned from his 3rd tour of Afghanistan. Long have us left behind served silently. I think this is fantastic, showing the nation what we at home go through during those 6months. i've brought my numerous copies, chokes me up every time-it hits very close to home xxx

I'm 17 years old and yeah people complain about what we do and how we are 'young and rebellious' and 'make towns look messy' and tbh I don't disagree and I don't listen to this sort of music at all but I watch all his programmes and this has got to be the most meaninful and inspirational. The lyrics make me get butterflies and their voice makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up because it's that beautiful, it gave me goosebumps. The meaning in the lyrics is enough to want me to make this
As a chorister having been part of a similar project, I can really appreciate this piece of music, not just as a wonderful song, but more importantly the emotion behind it.

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic, no matter what you may think of the conflict in Afghanistan, this is not about the politics of war, this is about what both serving members of the forces and their families and loved ones carry within their hearts. Forces wives/husbands are so often overlooked, this wonderful song and this fantastic project has opened the door allowing those who never gave "the wives" a second thought to see just how important they are.
Stunning, heart wrenching and uplifting in one. As some others have said I may not agree with the reasons that we are currently involved in Afganistan or Iraq but I support our armed forces and their families 100%. Please download and knock the not so X factor off of the top spot for Christmas.
To the "dislikes": OK, maybe like me you don't think Britain should be in Iraq + Afghanistan, or maybe you're not a fan of choral music, but so what? The point is that these men + women are out there working in inconceivably difficult circumstances, risking their lives + limbs every day... on our behalf.
So if their loved ones left behind want to record a song as a tribute, while also giving us a lot of pleasure and a break from the usual Xmas trash, I for one will back them to the hilt!

I've been following the TV series about these wonderful singing women, Gareth has done a fabulous job training the women's voices, and this performance is amazing! I had to watch it twice over because I was crying too much watching it first time round! The men are doing an amazing job out there on the front line, and they should be proud of their sweethearts for their part putting this wonderful song together!

They have to go through stress and worrying if their loved ones are still out there, or if they are no longer breathing! this whole Afghanistan war is complete rubbish, we have got nowhere, but of course there are other reasons that are good for this war.

I am an army girlfriend, my boyfriend has just returned from his 3rd tour of Afghanistan. Long have us left behind served silently. I think this is fantastic, showing the nation what we at home go through during those 6months. i've brought my numerous copies, chokes me up every time-it hits very close to home xxx

I'm 17 years old and yeah people complain about what we do and how we are 'young and rebellious' and 'make towns look messy' and tbh I don't disagree and I don't listen to this sort of music at all but I watch all his programmes and this has got to be the most meaninful and inspirational. The lyrics make me get butterflies and their voice makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up because it's that beautiful, it gave me goosebumps. The meaning in the lyrics is enough to want me to make this

As a chorister having been part of a similar project, I can really appreciate this piece of music, not just as a wonderful song, but more importantly the emotion behind it.
Watching and listening is fantastic, uplifting and spine-tingling.
May all our loved and cherished soldiers come home soon and stay safe.

I hope these get to number one and beat crappy little mix, this gave me goose pimples its beautiful i am going to order the CD now :D im 17 and i dont normally like this sort of music but i can tell by the lyrics how much this means to each of those wives, Our British men and woman should not be fighting someone elses war they should be home with their loved one and be safe not! Their husbands must be so proud of them as they are with them.
Let's hope it has put them on the map for a very long time.
Full marks to Gareth Malone & the writer Paul Mealor too for bringing this lovely song into production.

I can't watch this without a tear in my eye, well quite a few. My son is in the army in Australia, going to Afghanistan next year. This song is so beautiful and the show that went with it was inspiring too.

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic, no matter what you may think of the conflict in Afghanistan, this is not about the politics of war, this is about what both serving members of the forces and their families and loved ones carry within their hearts. Forces wives/husbands are so often overlooked, this wonderful song and this fantastic project has opened the door allowing those who never gave "the wives" a second thought to see just how important they are.

To the "dislikes": OK, maybe like me you don't think Britain should be in Iraq + Afghanistan, or maybe you're not a fan of choral music, but so what? The point is that these men + women are out there working in inconceivably difficult circumstances, risking their lives + limbs every day... on our behalf.
So if their loved ones left behind want to record a song as a tribute, while also giving us a lot of pleasure and a break from the usual Xmas trash, I for one will back them to the hilt!

I've been following the TV series about these wonderful singing women, Gareth has done a fabulous job training the women's voices, and this performance is amazing! I had to watch it twice over because I was crying too much watching it first time round! The men are doing an amazing job out there on the front line, and they should be proud of their sweethearts for their part putting this wonderful song together!

@MsKarenpowell I know! these poor wives deserve that much more than anyone else! They have to go through stress and worrying if their loved ones are still out there, or if they are no longer breathing! this whole Afghanistan war is complete rubbish, we have got nowhere, but of course there are other reasons that are good for this war.
I think that this is much better than all that cheap xmas rubbish, although there are still a few good xmas singles.
