  • conrail C39-8s live!!

  • Did I seriously click on this video and have a hentai add of all things appear?

(facepalm) The internet is so screwed up.

  • @MrStingray358 That's messed up!

  • Great catch! Just wish big blue was in the lead!

  • I never got why the C39-8's cab was smaller than its body. It's a great locomotive, but man it looks so weird like that lol. Nice video.

  • This is all around awesome! All scenes were captured well, and I love the ending! It's good to see hunchbacks doing what they do best: chug!!! Love the heated fuel blowing right out of the stack!

  • @o00o00ozy This was a good chase. Totally spur of the moment and I'm glad I stuck around. 8211 is a monster!

  • Someone illegally put the stripes on the front of the engine. I talked to the engineer today and he said the police are investigating. The railroad won't tolerate people defacing their equipment.

  • @Dampfuhrer I agree 100%!

  • @Dampfuhrer it was probably one of the crew members. that happens on the BP all the time.

  • @ble909 There is only six of us. If It was one of us we wouldn't have contacted the police.

  • is this a new railroad or something?

  • They even got the "exploding GE" thing right with the fire coming out the exhaust! Great video

  • @NSHammerhead You bet! Glad you liked it. Actually the 8211 is the best running of the 5 C39-8s.

  • Great video! How often do they run?

  • @bigjim4life Thanks Jim! They run Sunday evening through Thursday. Some days they come on at 12, others at 3, and those days they usually make the runs down to Warminster to interchange with the NH&I.

  • Awesome video! They have some nice power on their trains! :)

  • @papilot312 Thanks! The big GEs are quite a sight!

  • Awesome video, but why so slow?

  • @mdurdan The track is only class one, which is 10MPH. The eventual plan is to upgrade the track to class 3 standards for 25MPH, which involves tie work and placing the circuits back further from the grade crossings.

  • @CSX6000 I noticed what appeared to be retired Conrail and Canadian Pacific locos taking up the rear.

  • @ZacksPlace2010 That would be correct. 8212 was built for Conrail and 5577 is ex-CP.

  • @CSX6000 This is pretty cool, because this appears to be a smaller railroad company. There's a similar one where I live called: Pacific Harbor Lines, which does all the switching work for Union Pacific and BNSF, in the Los Angeles ship yards. (Mostly intermodal activity).

  • @ZacksPlace2010 Is that the railroad that uses the rebuilt engines that are gensets but still look like SD40-2s? They have a very nice paint scheme. Yes, this railroad is more/less a local operation. However they do make runs down on the SEPTA mainline at night. It's on my to-catch list.

  • @CSX6000 Yes, A LOT like SD-40's, though they have expanded their fleet and replaced some of their locos with newer 'low-emission' locos. But, yeah, they have a nice paint scheme, for sure. Most of them are black with white logos (similar to Norfolk's paint scheme), but they also have this really cool alternate paint scheme, where it is this deep wine red/purplish color, with golden yellow logo's.

  • @ZacksPlace2010 The scheme closely resembles the zebra stripes of the old Santa Fe.

  • @CSX6000 Yes, some of the locos have that zebra striping, you're talking about.

  • @CSX6000 camp out along the tracks somewhere lol

  • Its nice to see this old horses back to work...the early dash8's were notorious flame throwers, just like the old U-boats..great sounds and video

  • @fnm9908 Thanks! One local from around here likes the GE's because they remind him of the big ALCos that used to parade up and down the line back in the Reading days.

  • Awesome!! Would love to see the Ore Trains with big power!

  • @2102FAN Me too Daulph! Thanks!

  • C39-8s r the oldest GE's on the rail today

  • @conrailforever1999 Completely false.

  • Awesome video! I think my favorite part is when the flames start flying at 8:49.

  • @CSXACe It was cool to see it in person! Glad you liked the video.

  • Great to see an old C39-8 back to work. My favorite GE locomotive. Thanks for posting!

  • @cheechchongfan97 Thanks! My favorite GE as well!

  • Excellent video Adam, run into any "trash"? lol

  • @trainutjob Nope! It was too early for them.

  • @CSX6000 Ah that's true.

  • @trainutjob Good thing! I forgot my super soaker too!

  • @CSX6000 Lmao yeah right?

  • That thing is a beast for a local job jeez. Cool video, I like that curve at Telford

  • @21stCenturyLtd Thanks! They are using the SW3900 to the best of it abilities! Over the road, the GE is quite suited for the work, as there are several steep grade on this line.

  • @CSX6000 The GE is what I was referring to. And I quite enjoy watching its spew fire from the air vent.

  • Sweet video, Adam! Really enjoyed it! Weird hearing that K5LA on a locomotive other than 7087.

  • @boberttrain831 Sounds like any old K5LA to me. Glad you liked the video.

  • now this....is 1 helluva video love the fire and all the power and the power itself

  • @Railfan108 Glad you liked it!

  • Nice to see 5577 ex CP Rail!

  • @apples2095 Yes she is!

  • It'd be great to see a C630 run on here.

  • @USMCnBNSFdude I agree 1000%.

  • Great job Adam! Love seeing those classic GEs in action.:) Is the K5LA on 8211 the one that used to be on 7087?

  • @GenesisSanctuary Thanks, glad you liked the video. Yes, that K5LA used to adorn 7087.

  • Epic video Adam! This RR is surely awesome!

  • @KyleVideoDesigns Thanks! I think their so beyond epic that words cannot describe.
