  • I need some help. In 2nd grade i fell of the swings and landed on my gut area and i was in an extreme amount of pain in the spinal area. I couldn't walk for a bit but the next day i was fine except for a pain and soreness thats been following me for 6 years. The very top and bottom area of my back are very tender but the mid-section of my back is as stiff as a board.

All sounds not really good. This contusions / injury type initiating a lot of abnormal conditions. Comprehensive orthopedic massage therapy can be very helpful, in an elimination of tensions within fascia and muscles, including but not limited to trigger points, and adhesions Elimination. You should start to address this issues in order to slow down pathological developments and to restore normal pain free functions.

    Best wishes.

    Boris

  • For sundhedomsundhead piriformis is active in that matter past 60 not 90 degrees because of it's active and passive insufficiency and the nature of a

Origin( and distal attachment )from anterior sacrum.Think as a pulley effect past that degree and you will understand easily.Michael, from Toronto

  • Is piriformis both an internal and external rotator when the hip is flexed to 90 degree?

  • @sandhedomsundhed piriformis muscle's action is abduction as well rotation lateral of thigh.

  • I am familiar with works of Dr.Janda and respect them very much. However, the post isometric relaxation technique was researched and first introduced by Czech Republic scientist Dr. Karl Levit in the end of the 1960's. Thank You.
