This is really interesting i just cant seem to make it work granted i haven't actually gone out with this as a goal i try any time i get embarrassed or feel awkward in a social situation and i don't feel any better about it and have to change tactics to get any relief in the situation. I have a lot of social anxiety and im wondering if these could be keeping it from working properly for me or if its just cause i dont go into the situation prepared to do that.
He's doing what all good NLP coaches should do. That is, influencing them to practice and to believe they can really master it and make their life better. Good lad Jamie
i am not just stupid but i have done this befor without even relising it!(went in to KFC and asked for a big mac) i can deffently see where the feeling comes from, even if i did feel like a twat at the time!!
So elegant - does he claim a "primary" trainer - this was like watching ballet, but in a good way that increases your appreciation the more you watch. And the "just cut it off" with the hand-leg slap and then the woman is like blinking and about to fall out of her chair then I was about to fall of my chair laughing - what an art. And naysayers are still trying to discredit NLP - feel sorry for 'em.
This is actually much more than what it seems, this must be a prac course, everyone is tranced out, he is actually 'suggesting' alot of things to them in metaphor, its not just a nice story.. I think this is great
No thats not the purpose. In order for the pizza walk to work at its best you should leave with an overall positive ending. if you go to Mac'D's and ask for a matress the employee is gonna be like "wtf? is this guy TRYING to be funny? what a douche bag".
Right. It leaves the person wondering if he was actually serious or not. It you go to far (i.e. hammer or mattress) they will just think you're being a punk. And that great liberating feeling lies within you having the knowledge and power without force. If you asked for the hammer or mattress you would end up feeling bad because made that person feel negative.
Thank you for sharing this technique Jamie. I especially appreciated hearing your personal reaction to trying it. It is clear to me how this is a pattern interrupt and am going to do it when I go shopping tomorrow. (I was going to write "I will try it tomorrow," but just watched your video about "try." ;-) I'd like to know what nested loops are. Thanks for making these little lessons for us—it is much appreciated.
Having just moved into a telesales role recently I can say this will be something I will remember should I need to. I will even do it tomorrow to see how it feels! Thanks.
What's the name of the book's author again?

Pizzawalking changed my life. I thought Jamie was nuts when he first told me about it. Now I just do it for kicks.

This sequence is a great example of nested loops, of stories within stories. And he even gives a suggestion in the middle of his middle story.
Well done. Thanks for putting this up.

He copped out a bit. He still asked for a food item. He should have asked for something like a hammer or matress.

cool! You'd probably feel like you're slightly disconnected from the social system (in a good way). If you did it enough, you'd have no boundaries.
