  • Thought he did an awesome job talking his way threw it that part was really great however the shadows and color of the line was tough to follow along.

  • Sure you couldn't do it any faster with even lower lighting?

  • I made a monkey fist with the REAL rope, the one used for tug o war, And I dented a fence when I swung it at it in a Medeival Flail-like motion.

  • I've wanted to tie this since I saw The Ghost of the Flying Dutchman display it on Spongebob!! ^_^

  • how much rope do i use

  • dude its cool but you need to have better rope but besides that i give it a 8

  • I think you should use a different color rope!!

  • stop using dark colored rope

  • you are a monkeys fist ya silly galute!!!

  • good video but he should of used a lighter more visible colored rope

  • not really any use, its a decortive knot

  • bullshit - it's used during mooring for passing the linesmen the mooring line. The heaving line has a monkey's fist at the end and is tied by a sheet bend to the mooring line. The linesmen then pull on the heaving line as the mooring rope is passed out across to em. We used it nigh on every time in Foreland Shipping.

  • oh really?

    thanks for letting me know

  • No worries - sorry about the arrogance of the last comment. Was rather drunk haha!

  • it can also be used for a weapon,or on keychains.

  • or poi ^^

  • you should use a lighter colored rope, either that or white pants so you can see the actual rope, its easy to miss whats actually going on in the shadows there.

  • Thanks for the diagram!
