  • I am going to drill this a bit tonight. It looks like a pain submission which I don't like to rely on. But it seems like a very legitimate pass. Unfortunately I am the only one who really does butterfly guard in my gym, so this will likely be used on me. Shit. Heheh.

  • @KosenMaster I could be wrong but I think Jack has done more for catch wrestling then Tony. Tonys been MIA for years. And Ive seen some tapes on Tony were he dosent know what the hell hes talking about. lol

  • Great stuff!

  • Great job on this video, what a great move thanks for posting it .

  • neeeeat! Great info on the divot/shin. I wonder what else that can be used for...

  • Thanks for the early Xmas present, guys! Happy holidays to you both! Loved shinlocks ever since your first video and I can't wait to try out this pass.

  • Brian...what you've just shown, was a very similar technique which launched my interest in the pursuit of CACW, with the exception that what I encountered, was executed after breaking the opponent's closed-guard. Back in 2001, we used to have a guy, who claimed to train w/ Cecchine in Chicago. Regardless of the source, this guy was able to pin my leg down, & roll his knee over my shin with incredible effectiveness & inevitability. Since then, the set-up for pinning the shin has elluded me.

  • @Davo53209 I think I know what you're talking about. When I first learned the Shinlock in original form it came from Coach Billy Robinson and Coach Jake Shannon. You can see that footage at the link in the description for this video.

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT Like I said earlier, it's virtually the same technique & it didn't matter which way I'd try to kick. Once he got my leg, He'd grind his knee over my shin & pass. I'd just love the opportunity to ask Coach Billy Robinson, to help me rediscover the method of trapping the opponent's shin down on the mat, after breaking his closed-guard. If ever you were to see him again, would you be willing to ask Coach Robinson for his perspective?

  • @Davo53209 In all likelyhood I'll be seeing Coach Robinson at the 2011 Certifications in SLC January 15 - 16. But, to be honest, I usually only take requests from subscribers to our website DamageControlMMA,com. Not trying to be a prude, there's just only so many hours in a day, and I've got to spend them making the people who keep me financially afloat happy.

  • Thanks for providing the set-ups.

  • Love it!

  • Thanks guys. You guys seem like the nicest coaches, thanks also for keeping things positive and not all BS macho. I will try this out on Wednesday at training!

  • shin locks are the most painful lock
