  • Why do people make up so many rules with climbing? Hanging draws, preclipping draws, pinkpointing, redpointing, your ascent shouldn't count because you did it wrong, etc... I guess I can see if you are climbing competitively, but come on, this dude is climbing a rad route and didn't want to risk groundfalling while climbing the crux, so what? Why does anyone care? Zach, did you have fun on the route? Because that's really all that should matter IMHO.

  • How is it obvious I have never been to Mill Creek when I obviously knew where the crux was. But since I was born and raised in Moab, I obviously dont even know where Mill Creek is.

  • jczmoney- Its obvious you have never been to mill creek. The area is more than a little run out and sandbaggged. The bolt pre-clipped is the second bolt, the first bolt is maybe six feet off the ground rendering it useless for crux. If you blow-it clipping the second bolt you deck from 18 feet. I didn't bring a crash pad on my trip so I opted to use a stick clip. If someone sends the route sans stick clip props to them. I was on a climbing trip and didn't feel like breaking an ankle.

  • so you basically toproped the crux.
