In super mario 64 you go into portraits to get stars

In super mario sunshine, you go into various statues and pipes for shine sprites

And now in super mario galaxy, you go to different planets for stars

either way they are all the same because of the 3-Dness and the sort-of travel around feature.

An important thing to do is memorize the pattern of platforms rotating around. The lava in the middle is deadly, as Mario falls into it.

When Mario is running, hold down Z on the Nunchuk to make Mario crouch, then press A to make Mario jump while he's still sliding.

It's in the manual. Whenever you have a question about controls and moves, always look at the manual first.

When I first went through the game, he messed me up bad too. I spent a while figuring out his patterns; you won't be defeating him unless you learn them.

The Melty Molten Galaxy gives people trouble because of the large numbers of obstacles and because the missions are long. Your game-playing style probably lends itself very well to the galaxy, which is why you'd have less trouble than other people.

I play these things under Daredevil conditions--that Mario doesn't die or get hurt from beginning to end. That's why I played cautiously.

Nope. A second Life Mushroom does nothing. That's why I chose the 1-Up Mushroom.

It's not that difficult to defeat, but it is VERY difficult to not get hit during the fight. Fiery Dino Piranha's attacks go all over the planetoid.
