I didn't own a Saturn, so I'm glad that I had the opportunity to play this one.

From what I've played, it's actually very good. The music is pretty much Sonic Team. (Which is outstanding, by the way)

And the gameplay is what I imagined what NiGHTS would be back in my Sonic Adventure DX times. Flying through rings. The controls were cool. I haven't tried the Wiimote controls yet, but I will just for the heck of it.

So my question is, what makes this game so bad compared to the Saturn version?

PS2 Nights: Into Dreams comes pretty close to capturing the "it" factor but the WII is not even close.

This game is so fun... even though it gets really (and I mean REALLY) frustrating sometimes, it has absolutely beautiful graphics, and has a certain, magical dream like quality to it... Of course, I've never played the Sega version. Originals are usually better.

Yeah, the wii version is really good. Unfortunately I can't compare it to the old one as I haven't played it, but it's got stunning graphics and the flying controls are really cool once you get the hang of it (you point the wii remote at the screen and move it where you want to go)

it's true, they let themselves go. they are no longer an independent gaming franchise. They sell and make for all systems, and will probably only continue to sell classics IE. House of the Dead, Sonic... you know the novelties. Everything else is pretty much garbage. Sega used to be my favorite stuff. Genesis, dreamcast... (ill bleed yah!) I wish it never died, i can't imagine what their system would look like now, i used to dream for working for sega.

If it's like the original Saturn version (which appears to be true), the game is free-roaming while on foot and on a track while flying.

Trust me, if the game was free-roaming while flying, the game would probably play like shit.
