i not filipino my braddah,but i just wanted you to see that they are descended from blacks,and now look asian because of a later migration out of asia into phillipines,malaysia,indonesia etc. but yeah theyre small so are papuans and other melanesians.we polys are the tallest of the pacific islanders and are one of the most robust peoples of the world. we might look nothing alike but there is an ancient connection with filipinos.

@0912eee technically you can consider the phillipines as pacific islanders. Theyre ancestors used to be negoritos/black people maybe even melanesians descent, i dont know. But now a days many of theyre people are mixed races and besides that they rather be considerd Asian than "Black islanders" so thats why more & more people in the world consider the phillipines South East Asians.

So Filipino's are actually more closely related to Hawaiians/ Polynesians then you might think. They're mentioned in the song because they're country has been taken over forcefully many times and the indigenous people have been forced to adapt different cultures.

The same story counts for my roots: East-Timor and South-Maluku. At least the philliphines is a country on its own. East Timor is now free but it has costs a lot of lives. South Maluku and West Papua were colonised by the dutch, now they are opressed by Indonesia. Same goes for the Kanaky's by the French. Native Hawaians are disappearing due USA. Freedom!

We "Filipinos" need to wake up and check our real roots and come to terms with our polynesian brothers. The proof is in our language, folk stories traditions and more! Our "Filipino" ppl were actually heavily tatooo'ed just like u see our Polynesian brothers with identical designs.
