I was honestly expecting Suh and Fairley to be tearing it up, but Suh has been constantly double teamed and has lost all of his pass rushing speed ever since he bulked up past 300 lbs. Suh's advantage was his light weight (for a DT) to get past his man and put pressure on the QB. Fairley has played like shit, I don't know if its because of his injury or he just flat out sucks. Its pretty disappointing for Detroit.

Durant, Tullock, and Levy, that's a badass group of linebackers and rounds out what could very well be the best front 7 in all of football. Houston, Wright and A. Smith are all decent corners and Delmas is a future probowler. I've followed this team my entire life and I have never seen a Lions team with so few holes.
Besides the issue at corner (which isnt as weak as some ppl think), Detroits got great talent at every position. This coaching staff has went out and drafted guys that arent only talented but have a certain dynamic they bring to the team, Jahvid Best is a speed guy that is now complimented with Mikel Leshour whos a guy who can power his way thru short yardage situations. Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson proved to be a great one two combo last year and now titus young.. its gonna be a good year.
@HerbxtheRipper Yeah, our secondary isn't the best, but we have lots of young guys who can make plays. With the pressure the d-line is going to bring, there will be a lot of badly thrown balls heading their way. LB and secondary have both been upgraded in this FA.
@HerbxtheRipper You might want to check that, Detroit have signed Stephen Tulloch and Justin Durant at LB, along with DeAndre Levy, we've got a pretty solid LB core. Corners, we've signed Eric Wright who sucked last year, but had three solid seasons in Cleveland, he's got skills and he's hungry to prove ppl wrong about him. Wanted out of Cle cos they booed him, lol Browns fans. We also resigned Chris Houston, Delmas is a very good free safety and we got signed Erik Coleman who is steady.

The Lions secondary was actually pretty good last year before injuries hit. So long as they can bring back Chris Houston who was very good they have a few young guys who are capable of manning the #2 spot in Alphonso Smith and Aaron Berry. Ideally they would bring in another CB though... Im in favor of Carlos Rogers. The safeties with Delmas and Spievey are good
The LBs are the bigger issue. Deandre Levy is good but after him the 2nd best LB was Bobby freakin Carpenter
Nobody wants to play against Rodgers but for 6 out of 8 quarters this last year the Lions played the Packers offense better than any team in the NFL including the vaunted Steelers defense because they could get a pass rush on Rodgers without blitzing. Thats the only way to beat them because if you blitz they just go 4 wide and short pass you to death
@Elbozaburnin you're right about the CBs but the LBs aren't as bad as everyone thinks really the lions need only one more LB. Levy is solid when healthy and Ashlee Palmer is pretty good too (much better than Bobby Carpenter and he makes plays don't sleep on him now). so lions Defense is much more well rounded than most ppl think. They really only need another CB and LB and they'll be in very good shape.
I actually thought Bobby Carpenter played well the last part of the season when he got playing time and on special teams. If nothing else he is a good nickle LB because he can cover
@ckbreakdancer That hit was several seconds late and he led with the crown of his helmet. If you honestly think that shouldn't be a penalty then there's no point in arguing with you. In the NFL that is considered so dangerous Nick would have been fined and possibly faced a suspension.

Durant, Tullock, and Levy, that's a badass group of linebackers and rounds out what could very well be the best front 7 in all of football. Houston, Wright and A. Smith are all decent corners and Delmas is a future probowler. I've followed this team my entire life and I have never seen a Lions team with so few holes.

Besides the issue at corner (which isnt as weak as some ppl think), Detroits got great talent at every position. This coaching staff has went out and drafted guys that arent only talented but have a certain dynamic they bring to the team, Jahvid Best is a speed guy that is now complimented with Mikel Leshour whos a guy who can power his way thru short yardage situations. Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson proved to be a great one two combo last year and now titus young.. its gonna be a good year.

@HerbxtheRipper Yeah, our secondary isn't the best, but we have lots of young guys who can make plays. With the pressure the d-line is going to bring, there will be a lot of badly thrown balls heading their way. LB and secondary have both been upgraded in this FA.

@HerbxtheRipper You might want to check that, Detroit have signed Stephen Tulloch and Justin Durant at LB, along with DeAndre Levy, we've got a pretty solid LB core. Corners, we've signed Eric Wright who sucked last year, but had three solid seasons in Cleveland, he's got skills and he's hungry to prove ppl wrong about him. Wanted out of Cle cos they booed him, lol Browns fans. We also resigned Chris Houston, Delmas is a very good free safety and we got signed Erik Coleman who is steady.

The Lions secondary was actually pretty good last year before injuries hit. So long as they can bring back Chris Houston who was very good they have a few young guys who are capable of manning the #2 spot in Alphonso Smith and Aaron Berry. Ideally they would bring in another CB though... Im in favor of Carlos Rogers. The safeties with Delmas and Spievey are good
The LBs are the bigger issue. Deandre Levy is good but after him the 2nd best LB was Bobby freakin Carpenter

Nobody wants to play against Rodgers but for 6 out of 8 quarters this last year the Lions played the Packers offense better than any team in the NFL including the vaunted Steelers defense because they could get a pass rush on Rodgers without blitzing. Thats the only way to beat them because if you blitz they just go 4 wide and short pass you to death

@Elbozaburnin you're right about the CBs but the LBs aren't as bad as everyone thinks really the lions need only one more LB. Levy is solid when healthy and Ashlee Palmer is pretty good too (much better than Bobby Carpenter and he makes plays don't sleep on him now). so lions Defense is much more well rounded than most ppl think. They really only need another CB and LB and they'll be in very good shape.

@ckbreakdancer That hit was several seconds late and he led with the crown of his helmet. If you honestly think that shouldn't be a penalty then there's no point in arguing with you. In the NFL that is considered so dangerous Nick would have been fined and possibly faced a suspension.

@ckbreakdancer I know what you're talking about. I've seen numerous hits in the NFL that were flagged that were nothing but all out, hard hitting football. The extent to which the refs protect the QBs is pretty bad...but I just don't feel that hit by Fairley falls into that category. It was blatantly late, and deliberately hitting with the crown of the helmet can seriously injure the tackler. Stupid play on his part...and it turned what was a third down stop into a scoring drive.
