correct me if im wrong but what i got from this is that since there are different kinds of binding then basically its just using a neat trick to make the yo yo catch and come back up? what do you think is the best beginner level yo yo? awsome vid bro and you're skill is unreal.

...I use a velocity v3 (yyf) .. i do bind and...it doesn't come back...or finishez the slipper before i do bind

Ok I finally figured out how to do this. To those who are having trouble, the trick is to get the string to come in contact with the return system (which is usually a ring of some kind on one or both halves of the yoyo, depending on what model you have). For some reason all of these tutorial vids neglect to mention this, but it will not work if the string isn't pulled against the return system.

Binding is require on any "unresponsive" yo-yo. Some advanced style yo-yo's are designed not to come back to you. This is when a "bind" is required.
