@santorinioskorgpa do all motor work myself. i'm currently morphing a xr 80 bottom end with a klx 110 top end for my conversion build i'm doing i'm sure you'll see vids of that in the upcoming future
@jarodmx65 moto is 100% honda no china in it. as far as the bbr exhaust threw dyno testing it made the most and best power out of the pipes i had to test so its not all that bad
hi there mate just wondering where abouts are you getting these four valve heads from, ive got a 140 two valve head with 28mm mikuni flatslide and mild rotor kit .but ive seen these motors alot and dont know where to get them from
why not? with 4 valves you get better low lift than a 2 valve. and power difference is my 146 take roller head pulls 16hp and 8.5ft/lbs or torque my 146 dohc pulls 21.6 with almost 11 ft/lbs or torque i would say thats a pretty significant power difference for a lil 50 motor.
and to answer your cam question i tried to high lift cams i lost 3/4 or a horse threw the entire power curve. it made the best power with 230duration on both intake and exhaust with 260 lift and i forget what the final degree was on them but they where fully retarded.
i sent you a message. as far as mods it started life as a 124 takegawa dohc 4 setup. i took the crank stroked from 54mm it to 57mm bored up from a 54mm to a 57mm, and pretty heavly massaged the head, different cams, custom bigger valves ported the head 4 angle valve job thats been hand radiused and some very mild combustion work, custom bbr exhaust, worked over takegawa dohc manifold and a pe 28 carb
What is the lift and timing on your cams as compared to stock? If you want a good, cheap power increase go with cams that have lots of lift and advanced timing, eg about 270+ for both. It will wear your engine out real quick but damn will you get some top end power.
the chassis i got threw hurricane b, and the motor started life as a 05 crf 70, then bought the stage 3 takegawa dohc 124cc kit, then went tore it about again and uped the takegawa stroker from 54mm to 57mm and the broe from 54mm to 57mm so in that video its pushing 146cc
umm theres a couple different kits u can purchase threw two brothers racing. the kit i bought threw them a couple years agao was the stage 3 w/ the stroker cylinder piston rings gaskets head, exhaust manifold, carb, and take 3 speed close ratio tranny and manuel clutch and i wanna say it was close to 5000usd. top speed on mine is prolly in the low 50mph range but it only has the 3 speed and i have it geared low for motocross racing. you can easly achieve much higher mph w/ gearing and diff trany
nice beast, im disapointed put 138 kit, 28mm flatslide + big manifold into my 125 dynoed 9.1, spun the roller due to couldnt be strapped down any tighter( loose spokes ) still not to happy. i have an irk but havent installed yet, do you think theres alot to gain from porting?? please help.
thanks. what head are you using the +r roller head? yes porting can be a huge gain for these motors if done right. 9.1 for w/ loose spokes and the tire spinning on the drum isnt bad if your running and R head set up they usually spit out between 13-14hp at rear wheel on a dyno.
theres alot that plays into the making it sound good. it would help to know what motor you have and i can tell you what you need to get to start getting the sound of a 250f. you need to get a inner rotor or a tokyo mods stage 3 outroter or daytonas small outrotor
with the china motor there is a heavy oil sling on the crank you will need to get the irk with the light oil slinger which will make it rev quick. that will start to give you that 250f sound but you'll have to do head work and a good pipe to make it fully sound like that cause the stock ports on the live bv heads are garbage. what you mean you lose speed from a irk?
you don't lose speed meaning mph. the best way for me to tell you difference is just explain what one does and the other does. with the big fly/mag the motor doesn't need to reved to moon to get the bike ot loft the front wheel and won't easly stall out with a inner rotor you get lighting quick throttle response and the motor will pick up speed quicker than the heavy flywheel downfall is they are easy to stall out and with the less rotating mass it requires you to rev the motor to yank the fron.
tire up. but with the right head work, cam and pipe it will wheelie without clutch work. the bike above has an outer roter which is a happy inbetween from the heavy flywheel and the irk. the other bike the 187 has a irk and will wheelie in any gear. both bikes are high hp bikes. the one above is 21.5 horse bike and the other one i haven't dynoed yet but i'd say its prolly 17-18 but its killer on torque its prolly putting every bit of 12ft/lbs of torque
yeah if you don't have good throttle control and a good rider both bikes are a good way for a beginer to get sent on the fast track to the hospital. makes me laugh everytime i let my buddies ride it they are everywhere except going straight
thanks. bore is 57mm i used the new takegawa skirtless piston milled out the valve pockets. as far as i am told i am the only one known of that has a 57mm stroke in a honda crf 50 bottom end. 3 speed takegawa tranny and manual clutch. tokyo mods stage 3 ingnition. heads been heavily massaged bigger valves different cams. reworked manifold 28mm pe carb
Is this a Takegawa 57mm crank then? I thought the longest stroke they made was 54mm. And doesn't your setup require a slightly taller cylinder as a result?
yes it is a 57mm takegawa crank. you are correct the biggest stroke take does is 54mm i took my 54mill crank and added more stroke to it and it does has the taller 69mm cylinder. you cant tell in the video but there is a 1 or 1.5mm spacer plate underneath the cylinder.
i prolly got about 8 or 9 grand in the whole bike. i tried to put the last dyno sheet up but it won't let me on here but it hit 21.64hp at rear and 10.90lbs of torque
is that a takegawa head? if it is i cant find it!

What's the point of having an air cooled DOHC design? lol. I doubt you got much of a power increase just because you have 4 valves now.
