Guys if you hear the name JERRY HARMON and he is performing near by if you get out to see him you will be amazed. I saw him headlining the Wadebridge, and he is authentic Appalachian Mountain all the way, but you can hear the roots of our music and how it was all thown in a pile from those from here at home who settled in the mountains where Jerry grew up. He is an excellent performer. A great singer, amazing acoustic guitarist, humourist and storyteller. I am serious it will be worth it.
@SpAcEpOp9800 Give Roots, Country Life, Galway Farmer and Port Isaac a listen - they're all great :). If you're looking for a wider look at English folk... get the first Imagined Village album. It's a reimaging of some of the best traditional folk songs. It's really great.
@Karateworm just kind of virtually-eavesdropping here, but I'm happy to see Show of Hands mentioned!! Such an amazing band... always glad to find fellow fans, as they seem few and far between :)

@RonaeleViolet What good is the internet if you can't read other people's conversations? :P
I love Show of Hands. Roots is what really bolstered by strong sense of rural Englishness and the importance of our folky heritage.
I've never seen them live. I went off to Uni on the day that they performed 30 minutes from my house. Shame :(
