He's doing "The Freddie". It was a real dance. I know, we danced it at elementary school sockhops. He had a nice voice. 1965 was still an age of innocence, and silly, sexless singers were all the rage. The Beatles smouldered, no matter how nicely Brian Epstein had them dress. But Herman's Hermits, Paul Revere and the Raiders and The Monkees were in the same vein. Talented all, but much sweeter and funnier than we are used to today. 5inthehole's comments show lack of knowledge of the era.
What ever that guys taking, I'll take a double! He'd have made more money being a Buddy Holly impersonator...and what the hell is that shreik after the middle 8th? To bad, the guy didn't have a bad voice, why the silly antics? Guy looks like his hemerroids are acting up bad or a bee stung him in the asshole.
@5inthehole Well, that's because you just don't get it. The guy knew he was no Adonis, so why pretend? So he decided to cut loose and have fun as an entertainer. Positively shocking, isn't it?
Quite ridiculous yet quite addictive. How did the American kids buy into this as being part of the Btitish Invasion which saw the Beatles and the Stones storm the States..
Very creative dancing!

Freddie has a mic/cable hooked up to him, and on video it looks like it's
some kinda wired remote and someone is making him do all those moves.
How funny is that? Well guess is was cool back in the day? Do that today and people think you some kind weirdo.

LOVE IT! Fond memories of when I was 6 and doing the Freddie all over the house!
And I love that Peter Noone covers this song in his act; he does a "bloody good" job!
