I know I am one of the fortunate ones who never have had to worry about rape or emotional pain from my childhood up until being 18 years old. I know a woman who is eight years older than me who has experienced this similar pain and who needs to watch this.

How moving! There's another component to this though: a black woman blaming herself for the excesses and lapses of black men. As a 'mixed race' girl, I saw how the black guys treated my blacker-looking friends: how they were awed & deferential to me but treated them like chattel.
