  • What does it do?

  • Thank you! I couldn't remove the extension tube from my objectif!

  • garbage

  • What is so interesting about "unboxing"? Reviews and tests are needed!

  • what does this thing do?

is its function to just make your lens longer or what?

  • I was hoping you would show some examples.... boring!!

  • i hav these extension tube, its pretty good for its price. can do a lot of macro shots except in low light because u need to manually focus and set ur apperture before u mount it with extension tube.

  • Great vid. :-)

  • I got one and I have no idea how to work the aperture all I see is f 00, can you help me please

  • i ve the same!

  • whats the thing on the very front on the camera? the very very front? and what does it do?

  • How much were thosr

  • @Kjredtail can get them for under £10 off ebay

  • douche

  • i dont have my camera yet, but can you tell me the advantages of putting an extension on a standard kit lens?

  • lazy people now days wanting to use autofocus. best pictures are taken without autofocus... and these tubes work just fine, my first ones were exactky the same, now i regret upgrading since its not much difference for such a huge expensive difference

  • i dont get it, if there is no optic inside of the tube, how can it increase the focal length???

  • @rongthienco It increases the distance between the lens and the sensor, so, for closer objects, that originally have the focus behind the sensor, will have the focus in front of the sensor (or on the sensor, when ou get the focus right) with the extension.

  • What a bloody 5 minutes to put the lens on and off

  • took him almost 6 bloody minutes to put on a freakin extension tube.

  • Absolutely useless thing. With this, you even have not possibility to setting the aperture.

  • @117max yes you can, just depends on the Ex. tube, this one in this video is a cheap $10 on Ebay, but there's a little more espensive ones that let you use Aperture, like KEnko and other brands, from 80 Dls or more you can have autofocus (manual focus better for macro) and aperture up to F45 or more.

  • And how do you work the aperture???

  • @marcogh20

With these cheaper tubes focus has to be done manually.

  • @DigitalTechLife focus and aperture are different. How do you get the aperture to remain at say 5.6 instead of defaulting to 00. apparently the 450d, you could just keep the lens release down. But i can't seem to get the trick to work with the 550d

  • @DigitalTechLife That doesn't answer the question mate - how do you work the aperture? - focus ring controls focus, zoom controls focal length, camera controls shutter and camera also controls aperture. Do you set the aperture before fitting tubes?

  • @ukmitch86 You have to fix the aperture pin manually, I use a folded piece of paper.

  • @DigitalTechLife Apperture is NOT focus! FYI!

  • @chittilekkala Of course its not. Way to go assuming that you can't control aperture manually.

  • @DigitalTechLife Aperture, not focus. How, or can you, change the aperture?

  • @DigitalTechLife your not answering his question... For macro you will need a smaller aperture anyway, no way to set your aperture with these tubes.

  • @snuurtje You'll have to set your aperture before hand on the camera. Press the DOF preview button, and while holding that you take the lens off locking it at that aperture. in Macro you will probably be at like f8 f11 f13 because the DOF is sooo shallow

  • @marcogh20 I dont think you can set the aperture from the camera with these "cheapo" extension tubes... there is no electronics running between the camera, and the tubes... since the lens has electronic aperturecontrol, i dont think it is paussible, no.. :(

  • @marcogh20, i know this is old news, but for anyone else, you CAN set the apature (different to focal length). With the lens on the camera, select the apature using the camera, then hold down the DOF preview button (the little button below the lense release button). remove the lens while holding this button down, and the apature will stay at that setting. Now you can get in macro close but dont have to have a tiny depth of field.

  • @marcogh20 Set the desired aperture on the camera, hold down the DoF preview button while removing the lens and it will stay stopped down, its also worth noting its best to shoot in AV or M mode and use centre weighted metering.

  • @marcogh20 you have to put the camera in av, pick your aperture with the the on the camera, press and hold the DOF preview button, still holding down the button remove the lens from the camera and the aperture stay stuck.

  • No autofocus?

  • what a junk.... plastic crap... no use of the light meter... its junk without any doubt..

  • They don't do everything Kenko does......because there is no autofocus.

  • thanks

  • Did you buy that from Deal Extreme?

  • @caives

    No from linkdelight

  • I think it is good for the price, it does everything the more expensive Kenko tubes do. However I rarely use them.

  • i have one too it was a bid disappointment
