check out how the car is just barely able to pick up speed on the straight. if it was geared for higher top speed, the car (probably) wouldn't have been able to achieve the higher speed due to wind, etc. i agree with the decision to keep speed and engine torque on lower ends because there are more curves from which to pick up time
changing a little bit the set up maybe takes 5-6second out ,or moree because it is a lot of time in full throttle and it only speeds up till 165, maybe a little bit more is better
The transmission is geared for accelleration instead of top speed, there are more points where you are accellerating from 90-150 then there are points where you are going 165
But that said, seems like the driver is hesitant w/ the car (throttle/brakes), giving himself some reserve and room for error when powering in and out of turns. I think the right driver could shave 5-6 seconds. But then I have not driven that car.
Apart from that, I'd give myself room for error in that sardine can, apart from that deadly fast.
You guys should try the simulated Radical SR8 in iRacing. Check out some Radical Iracing vids on here to see for yoursleves. It sounds and appears to handle very similarly. Great video by the way.
Awesome piece of driving really!, I do want to know how many times they have to re-pave this most famous of race tracks? Also I noticed in some parts of the track there are really huge paint markings of maybe names and/or greetings and a few website adverts written in the middle of the road.. you know they are both very dangerous and slippery. Could even cause a lot of irritation or focus away from driving.. shouldn't they be erased?
the SR8 LM is powered by a Powertec RP Macroblock 2.6l V8 avaible with 360-480hp depending on the customer choose. The only thing left from the Suzuki Busa is the cyl head...the rest is Powertec ihouse build
Brilliant. Cheers for posting. Initially I thought it was speeded up but that was just amazing. I even started shouting at the screen for the driver to get 170mph.
That was ridiculous! Anyone know how he shifts? I don't see a stick and he doesn't seem to have paddles.
Pretty cool!

@thorandmoljnir RPE paddle shift and auto-blipper, flat up shifts and clutch-less down-shift

First of all: I can't drive like that.

Radicals can have a variety of motors in them, and this one probably had the twin-'busa V8 with 400 bhp
