Do a little more research before making yourself look like a complete idiot on the internet. This software does NOT backup your ram. It provides a cache for windows to write to instead of the hard drive. Hard drives have higher latency making them slower to write to then flash memory. So I do not recommend using this software on anything other then a flash drive. Also be warned flash memory has only a limited write-cycle lifespan keep that in mind.
Ps, for anyone wanting the 'better' and 'FREE' way to use your flash drive as ram on your XP go: start-> control panel-> system-> advanced-> click settings under performance-> advanced-> then click change under Virtual Memory. then click the harddrive/flashdrive you want to use memory from, set the max amount of memory you want, and the min amount of memory (i recommend setting the min anmout 10mb less than the max amount), click set, then restart your computer.
However Virtual Ram is no way near as fast as Actual Ram. and if you have the money id buy more Ram for your computer because it is worth it. the good part about Virtual ram is every computer has a max amount of actual ram you can have, and virtual ram can add ferther performance to your already maxed out Ram computer (your wrong here too BBB, the more ram you have the faster your computer will run, so your ideas about how you CPU will only run well with 1gb of ram is just talk).
I have a 1GHz processor and 1.2G Ram. I did the whole virtual memory thing and I still havent seen an improvement. I have three hard disks and have them all paging. The total amount of virtual memory I have is 13029M and my CPU still clocks out, even while this video is playing it is at 80%. Ive searched endlessly for how to improve my own pc and nothing has worked so far... Do you have any clue what I should try?
Well shouldn't it run XP just a little bit better? My old laptop was 1Ghz with the recommended amount of memory back in 2001 and it ran great (notice I use past tense, the SOB died awhile back). Im tired of the performance with this pc... any tips/tricks you could recommend?
I'm sorry but u don't know much about computers. I have a tutorial on how to to this for free on XP. It's a little bit more complicated but it works just the same. I tried this app before and it is not worth the money you will pay for it. But keep learning about computers.
It cost money if you pay for it first of all. And That is nice that you have a video on it. Keep trying hard so you can get at least one subscriber. Also You know nothing of me and you prob don't even know 1-10 of the shit I know.
I'm sorry too BBBProductions, but ive looked at drcrazypants23's way to use harddrive/flashdrive space as ram and not only does it do the same thing as Eboostr but i personaly think it works better! ive been doing it this way for years, and i find it hard to understand how someone who makes 'helpful' videos on computers didnt know about XP's virtual ram option... so i agree, keep learning about computers.
fyi A 32 bit OS (Windows XP) will only support up to 3 gigs of ram. A higher bit OS like vista will support more. Ram is so cheap now, there's really no point using the program and a usb flash drive.
