  • Does any1 know how to spell these words??? :/

  • great video! :) but it froze :( could you please do another video like this one?

  • This has helped me with my basic understanding!! But it would be a lot more constructive if you showed the movement as well.

  • Ok first of all, you seriously need to work on your pronounciation for some words, because I didn't even know what u meant when u said en lair, because btw, lair is pronounced as one word! Same with grand( more accent on the a) a la second ( pronounced secon, not second)!

  • @DevilGrrrrl500 it's actually en l'air and grand à la seconde

  • @fionajaqueline same!!

  • is it just my computer or does this video freeze at 3:06 until the end? :S

  • @FionaJacqueline mine does that too!

  • @FionaJacqueline it happened to me too

  • @FionaJacqueline Maybe that's why it loaded so quickly. -_-

  • @FionaJacqueline MINE DOES THAT TOO

  • yeah i agree with purplexpolarbear..... :P

    but nice video thanks!

  • thanks sooooo much. i just moved and i had to transfer to a new studio and my new teacher only uses this type of terminology and i didn't know all of it... until i saw this video :] thank you for posting!

  • very helpful.

  • thanks for the vid but if you could throw in the word on the screen i think that would be alot better for the visual learners like me!!!!! :)

  • this is a really good video! it really helped me! thanx so much!

  • i forgot what is the moved called where you switch for feet in 5th position, its a jump??

  • changemont

  • ive heard en dedans (spell?) used before what does that mean!?

  • its when you are doing a ron de jambe starting from the back then towards the side then to the front =-) on de or is going from the front to the side to the back

  • It *means* "inside" and en dehors is "outside". But yes, usually those two terms are for the two directions of ron de jambe.

  • the sound stopped and so did u like 3 minutes in right after the grande plie...so ya if u ever repost this tet us knoww =] haha...im gonna subscribe yay

  • i'm actually a popper and i got a nationals competition in a few weeks and i really need to learn the basics of ballet and tap, so i'm subscribing to u. there's a lot i need to know, so thank you for helping : )

  • you're very striking-looking.

    And this was pretty helpful.

  • is striking looking a good or bad thing?

    and glad i helped =]

  • goooood.

  • @AmberMade probably pretty, because you're really pretty! (i'm a girl, so no homo.)

  • thanx i was just wondering about thoes meaning cuz my coach can't speak english so yeah it's a little bit hard

  • Hey, thanks this was helpful, even though I'm French it's not always obvious what things are just from their names.

Video stopped playing properly for me at 3:04 though :(, so probably missed the most difficult stuff, but anyway I just wanted to say Technokittin is right, and also that "seconde" is, for some reason, pronounced "seGonde". With a "g" sound as in "guitar".

In most latin languages it's actually spelt with a"g", but in France we don't like when it's all too easy... lol ^^

  • I had the same problem too! At least the video continues at 7:03! Exactly when it says "Thanks For Watching" with Lady Gaga playing in the background.

  • Yeah it actually did that for me too.

It's a shame, I have a feeling it stopped when it was getting REALLY interesting, but well....

If you ever RE-post the video, please let us know !! =)

  • Good Video! It helped me on my vocabulary midterm i had for ballet.

  • your pronunciation is adorable! do you do french?! it's pronounced like 'on lair', not 'on lee-air' :) cute! :)

  • Great Video! Thanks for making this. My teacher teaches us the basic words but not direction like en devant, etc..

  • thanks so much! xoxo

  • wow! this is a great video! thanks for taking the time to make a video like this! very good, and great pronunciation!
