No matter how many Final Fantasies they make, no matter how many new characters are created...I will always remember this game as the game that made me love RPGs the way I do today. Listening to song brings back memories and the nostalgic tears that I welcome. I too have been in Kain's position, and that is why he will always be my favorite Final Fantasy character in my favorite Final Fantasy game.

It was weird how in the beginning, the main character and the leading female were already in love. That doesn't happen often. Usually, it's the leading male meets the female and overtime they fall in love. (FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX)

After watching the CGI opening for the DS remake, all I can think of when I listen to this is Kain's silent unrequited love for Rosa as he watches her and Cecil, and undoubtedly knows that he will never be with Rosa in that way, no matter how much he wishes it.

I mean, yeah, it's supposed to be Cecil and Rosa's song, but Theme of Love has always given me a bittersweet sort of feeling, so for me, it's fitting for Kain's situation as well.

This was the first FF I played. It's one of my faves, but my number on favorite would have to be FFI. I play that on my iPod all day along with FFII. VII sucked along with VIII. X was pretty good, XII I didn't really like, and I loved XIII except for the sci-fi setting. I know EVERY FF has sci-fi, but for XIII the whole CONCEPT was sci-fi

i think part of why it's almost universally considered that the best ff games are the ones before ff7 is that those games had an element of imagination that the "modern" ff games don't have. with the limitations of the older consoles and the poor graphics/sound compared to today's games, there was so much that you had to imagine yourself to get the most value out of the game, which is like a personal connection to the game. now, the new games with the hd graphics put everything at face value.

I've enjoyed every Final Fantasy game bar II and XII, I'm currently playing this and loving it. FFXIII was awesome too, just because it doesn't have a 'Medieval' feel doesn't make it shit, and then there's people complaining that you can't change your party in it as much. At least in XIII you can choose who you want in the last fight, in this game it's pre-determined and still awesome. I've played all the main games bar V, VI, XI and XIV but the only ones I'll be touhing are VI and possibly XIV.
