stupid....1st suit should be blu/ blk/ or grey!..no wonder u guys are so JACKed up when u hit the streets!...young buc's so confused i see why! pin stripped suits are secondary suits...(ie, for guys that have muiltible suits!)... American cut has no shape slumpy shoulders... it looks too geek!
@Cardsmaster Probably not gonna work, because it's not just the buttons, but also the cut. You liked it cause it fits you and you said "slim", so you'd like a closely fit slim cut "European" style suit. Find another one and if it's not perfect fit, take it to a tailor - you're already saving money on the suit anyway.
okay can somebody tell me what twobreasted is.I mean realy themost important thing when buying a suit is THE MATERIAL. Year round gaberdines, supers etc. Such as one commenter said not a pen stripe but a solid black it's a more flexible tone.
I usually don't comment on these video clips, there is so much incorrect information here: 1. never buy a navy pinstripe suit if is your first suit, reason you can't wear the jacket has a blazer casual, you buy solid navy suit , now you can use the jacket has navy blazer with a grey, tan trousers for a casual look. 2 Vents are personal style points, double vent, single vent or nonvented. 3. Cuffs are personal style points, however the trend of the day now is plain bottoms.
i agree....she should not have the suit on a wire hanger. i also think that a black suit is a better first time buy than a navy blue suit. you can get much more usage out of a black suit. and she failed to mention the difference between the pleated and flat front pants. advice could have been a bit better!
@vincentrich she is talking about men's "business" suits not "everyday" suits. i think gray is the second best color to pick for a suit. blue should be a last choice. thats just my opinion. we all have different preferences
Ive been wearing suits all my life. and ive never seen any advice given on a suit while the suit is hanging on a wire hanger. Every fashion guy pays attention to detail. looking at that detail tells me...your knowledge is basic. change the rack...just a hint
I wouldn't trust an image consultant who has difficulty conveying the difference of 'single-breasted' v 'double breasted.' Clearly she should also mention what is appropriate for different body shapes.. And navy pinstripes.. first choice?.. not mine. Expert village.. more like amateur bluffing.
You are the most ignorant and pathetic racist I've ever seen. Stop making politically incorrect assumptions about the American and Asian cultures... because apparently you don't know jack about either one of them.
Is this just a typical case of British superiority complex? Why are you, a middle-aged adult, engaging in an asinine transatlantic dispute while make wild conjectures at an American culture you clearly don't understand? Please, contain your ignorance.
what the hell! What is the world coming to!? Maybe this is for men (boys) who still let their wife/mama dress them. This 21st century metrosexual/uni-sexual BS is going a LITTLE too far dont you think?? Maybe I should do a viedo and teach a woman how to buy maxi-pads.

@trinidad718
Your post should be deleted for suggesting black over navy.
vincentrich 1 year ago
@vincentrich black is a classic suit color and it is easier to match up with shirts, ties, and shoes than a navy suit.
trinidad718 1 year ago
@trinidad718
Black is also a color that you shouldn't wear in day to day situations (in a suit). There's no way to argue around that.

Appreciated the specific tips, eg shoulder stitch check, parallel lapel pinstriping, number of buttons. Would like tips on how to FIT properly, too

Might as well buy a Black Suit rather than the Navy Pinstripe. Not much difference there.

She talks about not wearing cuffed pants. AFAIK they've been out for about 20 years now. Cuffed pants where just so 1980s.

First time suit buyers:
navy or gray, solid color, or subtle pinstripes
2 button
American Cut
noodleninjaa 2 years ago 8
@noodleninjaa american cut is too loose man. european cut would look better for a first suit
gab9876 8 months ago
navy pinstrip? in my opinion the first suit to buy is a solid gray which is not dark like charcoal nor light as a summer color.
