I think the vehicles actually look pretty good...but my problem (and perhaps this is more what you are refering to) is the translucent minicon figures these come with...they just look cheap, and they certainly do not look real in the sense of being part of the vehicle (what vehicles do you know which have translucent mechanical parts?)

I gotta admit, I originally did not like this guy when I first saw pics. But after this, I really like him. I like how the combiner connectors look like shoulder cannons in robot and thrusters in helicopter mode. And the blue actually works here. Don't really like the combined mode, but that's only because his fists are so obvious. The blades shoulders are kinda nice and unique.
