  • Fuckin Guards!

  • pig fucking scum, look at the beating they gave owen gaffney for fuck sake, they will probly get away with that on a technacality,

  • shes very attractive lookin so she is

  • when are the irish people going to start standing up against these garda scum? i dont mean with stones and sticks as they invariably win, but when are we going to start shooting these scumbags who treat our people so badly? we all know who the bad ones are and where they live time to get paramillatary on these cunts.

  • fffuuucckk the garda scum

  • This is funny, RATM song and the gardai haha!

  • fucking pigs...

  • guards are only bollox'es :d up shell to hell

  • bertie and charlie gave shell our rightes to the oil off the irish coast in the '80s, and gave them a special discount on the tax they had to pay(ie 25% not the statratory 50%) we (the IRISH) wound not have such financial problems (the bankers staged and causedfor us , the same as they staged in the '30s) if we TOOK BACK OUR OIL & GAS RIGHTS.

  • fuck the garda :@

  • thats our great public servant garda force, working for a fuckn british company robbing our bankrupt country of one of the few resources we have,

what a stupid goverment and political class we have,

fuck shell, fuck the brits and fuck these pig ignorant guards, they are all probably from mayo anyway, fuckn thick cunts

  • fucking pigs and they wonder why people hate them ??

  • iz like d pigs r all off der tits on yokes ha. havin a mad rave, brill!

  • thanks for the video, this makes me sick, those guys are the opposite of guardians of the peace and will rot in hell

  • sure its not the irish goverment whos running this country.. its shell and the likes

  • lmao the brits have the garda doing there dirty work for them agin after signing out back in 1922, i hate to think what 2022 is gonna be like.

  • Gardai are a law of their own, one law for them and one for you and me. hitting people with batons and throwing them in to ditches at a peaceful protest! Garda scum.....

  • think for yourself, question Authority!!!!!!

  • Only Irish people would applaud their own police beating up their own people in order to allow a foreign company to come in and make off with Ireland's national resources as the country heads into recession. Idiots.

  • only mayo ppl would vote a ff td in again! yer gas

  • Good on Gaz... This is a great Vid. Did you put it together yourself?

  • I was at the May 30th gathering in Rossport and heard stories of the cops attacking protesters and beating them. I didn't think too much of it then because for the most part the cops didn't beat or hurt any protesters at the gathering I went to.

This video made my heart sink. The cops aren't the enemy here, but they're not our friends; they don't deserve the title "garda".

  • B Specials.They should be disbanded.

  • Their in the wrong place. They should be in the C.B.S. and Convents.Garda Siochana have run their course. The end is nigh. The people will decide.

  • Well done the guards these poeple are breking the law full stop.

  • U must be joking! The Gardai are the law breakers - enter locals property without justification or warrants, trying to criminalise innocent people, mock the locals.............

  • @TheLocal55 at this rate of going i would love if w3 did get the gas terminal but by our own means and of course loads of money!

  • 1:59 is fucking hilarious. the guards that threw dat guy in a ditch are focking ledgends :P

  • well done shell2sea protesters as 4 the gards u all should be a shame of yourselfs while those people are only saving there land an county hell2sea im with you 100% u should try to organise a bus from dublin to the site il be well up to support yas

  • Shell are the problem here, not the guards. The Gardai are carrying out orders.

  • the main man, WIllie Corduff

  • 1:57, they just fuck him into the ditch. That is actually good police work right there..!

  • The Gardai should be protecting the interests of the community not Shell. Just goes to show how corrupt this country has got.Shell must be brainwashing them all with €100 euro notes.

  • oh it great great to see the boys in blue doing something about the rising crime figures

  • scum

  • Get a life the gardaí are only doing their jobs

  • wow your police force has a very soft approach to protestors.

  • Bet ya none of you'd be complaining about the Gardai if the stoped your sister from being raped or your brother from being assaulted. And befre anyone says "I rang the Gardai and it took them half an hour to show" think how if ppl like that lot didnt waste so much of the Gardais time with illegal iterferance in legit construction projects I guess the Gardai would be able to use there scant man power a bit better.

  • Dirty pigs

  • that sgt on the video isnt using the appropriate sanctioned baton the one he has is illegal to use

  • I am Fucked off at the Irish Society has gone may be the thick Irish fuckers should be up at Dail and asking why the Gas rights where sold to out siders

  • gardai are doing their jobs here. wasters causing the trouble are not in work i see. no problem with a peaceful protest, this clearly was not though. the guards do not just go for people for no reason that is absolute shit.

  • fuckin garda scum

  • fuckin hate the garda, pigs

  • Willy Corduff...everything that's wrong with Ireland

  • Did the courts rule against the protesters at some point?

  • its terrible that the cops do this it is not right we were born for freedom thats all there protesting for

    tiocai ar la

  • shit , their just tosing felas into the ditch

  • ho hum it the gardai scum just a load of bully boys

  • awsome song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's the point in having music in an information & news clip?

  • Thats the way the Police should treat law breakers. All power to the Garda...well done.

  • Is it to much to ask,Respect the gardai,Respect the country and its laws

  • hero1916 your comment about the gardai in Ireland being a law unto themselves is very accurate. I have 2 court orders in my favour and they are not interested because one is against a large bank. My report to the Serious Fraud Office in England - SFO/3/C/920 was not acted upon and some judges wonder why not. It is not for me to answer.

Michael Stephen Nolan Dublin - Eire 17th September 2008 2:30 pm

  • KNOW YOUR ENEMY! if anybody wants to cause a full scale riot let me know! im no thug but these fucks need to be stoped! get in touche with me!

  • the gardai in ireland have long been a law unto themselves. these videos just prove it. protesters should wear protective clothing like paded jackets and helmets.

  • shut up hippe

  • garda

    the enemy of rural Ireland.

  • what the drink drivering rural ireland?

  • comin on us mayo boys we may not be down fightin but ur all right let does shell cunts fuck off

  • You're wonderful.

  • They are great!

  • that sharon one on RTE is sum bird

  • great video, I'm living here 11 years, I have been around the world three times and haven't met another police force quite like the Irish!

I have a suggestion for the Minister for Justice to change their name to Mafia Siochana instead of garda siochana.God love us if they give them guns! They already sleep in their uniforms, if they have guns they'll keep them under their pillows. The Irish population will be halved overnight!

    Best regards,

    Latif Yahia.

  • yes, they are evil scum they have even colluded with terrorists to have members of another police force assassinated.

  • Did you drop out of school when you were 7?

  • garda scum wankers dey love all that usen weapons think there the big men ther jus scum

  • hmm i beleave saying the vast majority of this island do not supporty the protest.... how i beleave this is why isn't the whole island down there, its less than a 100 ppl protesting and most of them aren't from mayo there brought down from dublin by bus there smelly down with all goverments hippies.sad little people

  • nobody respects the garda here there bullys they are law breakers and are power tripers assholes the lot of them muppets what a horrible job

  • wow, rage against the machine...jesus that's original...pack of fudgepackin queers who reform for money, there also signed by sony...do me a favor,

  • besides looking at your profile its clear your pro protest so why not take you little self rightious veiw and fuck off the vast vast majority of us do not support you and want shell involved here as do the people of westport.

  • getting angry because you can't back up your claims? Thats fine and yes I am totally in favour of protests and direct action as a tactic.

  • A TNS-MRBI poll carried out for TG4 in Sept 2006 found that 61% of people in Mayo felt the Corrib Gas terminal should be located at sea, whileonly 23% felt it should be located at Bellanaboy.

A Primetime/Irish Independent poll in November 2006 found that 44% supported an off-shore processing of the gas; 29% supported a processing at Bellanaboy; and 17% wanted the project abandoned. 59% of people polled also say they would do the exact same thing if the pipeline was going through their area.

  • @Gazwsm FAIR PLAY MATE ..RICH STATE ,PUSH RULE ..LOVE EIRE

  • Where'd get your "vast majority of us" from? When was the referendum? Fuck off

  • This issue has and always will be about more than just Westport. Today Westport tomorrow a local issue near you with shameless courting of multinational business with less and less regulation. And as the so called golden years recede for the Irish economy, it can clearly be seen how unimpeded regulation and shameful courting of the international market causes untold damage.

  • actually just looking at it on the clip there, shows her being dragged out. very edited not to show her driving in. notice how the reporters voice is taken away and the music is put in thats to mask the editing, but its very obvious

  • yh did happen m8, dont know what happened over it she was arrested. i remember they smashed up the windows in the van fairly good but she had it coming

  • Willie Corduff is a local BULLY

  • agree, its sinn fein wanting something to shout about.

  • Love the way we never see any footage released by Shell to Sea of the moments preceeding the Gardaí fighting back. Except that time the woman drove the van at the guards. I know there were a lot of city draftees, but I pity the poor local guards. As for giving our resources away free - go get the gas yourself so. I dont like Shell, but if some exploration company hadnt found it, no one would have. Dont be so simple.

  • It is that simple! Our natural resource has been sold for a fraction of its value without asking the people.A gas line running right through our country then pumps it on to Scotland we get none.I respect that the Gardai have a hard job, but I think the hardest part for them should be having to carry out actions against the will of the people and against what is right. Whats happening here is against what the Irish were fighting for all those years ago with Parnell and Davitt. Its land rights

  • The Gardai took an oath to protect the people, there is enough crime in the country without them acting as security guards for a company like shell. The CPO system is being abused here as well. There is a far bigger picture here the rights of these people are being severely inhibited by these actions if it happens here it could be on the doorstep of you or I next.

  • agree its selective editing :) they only what to show what they want shell to sea are the real criminals. How much is it costing to have gardai policing a site that the vast majority want

  • This footage is from the original RTE news report. There has been no editing from the original RTE report by anyone involved from SHell To Sea apart from a bit of music and a bit of a title. If there was any violence from Shell To Sea protesters preceeding the Gardai baton charge don't you think RTE and TV3 would have shown it?

  • The absence of footage showing Shell To Sea protesters engaging in violence with an Gardai is due to the fact that it has never happened. RTE and other media outlets would foam at the mouth to air such footage. The wholly unsubstantiated and personal opinions such as those mentioned above claiming that the Gardai must be reacting to some unseen violence is total fantasy based on prejudices rather than any facts, evidence or footage.

  • and no car was ever driven into the gardai, if you have footage of the van actually being driven into Gardai, or Shell To Sea protesters being violent, you should stick it up on youtube.

  • of course their was i saw that harrington hippy drive a van into gardai on rte news, i also saw that protesters shouting abuse at gardai before and action was taken, please get your facts right my friend. Anyway no point arguing the site will be built will help the economy. if you want something thats meaningful to shout about hows about you lot go to the middle of tiananmen square and protest how the chinese distroy the enviornment or shout about tibet.chinese police are a soft touch ;)

  • you didnt see any car being driven into the gardai on rte. the only footage rte have ever shown of the incident is exactly the same as what is being shown here. as it doest show any van being driven into gardai. if you have footage, put it on youtube or link to the rte video news archive were you claim to have seen it occur. I mean come on, if someone tried to drive a van into gardai they'd be thrown in jail and it'd be a great way to discredit sehll to sea. it simply never happened

  • i know i saw it, Harrington said this is a public road i can drive on it then she put up her window drove into gardai who smashed the window and dragged her out. To bad they did not smash her head at the same time.

if you were not so silly you would be funny Gazwsm. Go and find a proper job :)

  • prove it. where in this video, or any of those on youtube can you see footage of the van being driven into Gardai?

And explain this, if she drove her van into Gardai, why didnt they arrest her, bring her before the courts and throw her in jail?

  • prove it to who. to you??? why would i want to do that. she was brought beford the courts, not sure of result but seeing that car thiefs can get away with a fine that probably all she got. who you trying to kid. your hardly trying to justify what the do gooders are doing there. the gardai are right to knock the heads off them. if anything they should allow them as target practice for the ERU

  • ok so you're offering no proof ,not even a link 2 where u claimed to have seen footage of the car being driven into Gardai. Then u go on 2 claim she 'probably' got a fine?

1)why is there no footage if there was loads of media there filming

2)do you honestly think if sum1 drove into the Gardai that they wouldnt be charged with assault or gbh. She wasn't even arrested.

The simple answer is that the event never occured and bcos of that, you can offer no evidence to support ur claim.

  • lol no point in arguing with you, its the same as trying to convince a neo nazi of the holocaust. i saw it, the people saw it why would i want to change your mind? anyway enough petty arguing not worth it

  • people can provide evidence for the holocaust. You can't provide any footage of her driving into the Gardai

  • oh get a life you sad little man. You saying her arrest was unlawful?

  • when did I say that. She was never charged. All blockades of the Shell refinery are illegal under law, i'm not disputing that. What I'm distubing is that protesters were violent or that they drove vans into Gardai

  • your stating she did not drive it at gardai in that case your saying there action was over the top and her arrest was unlawful. Look at the clip here in more detail the editing is so clear its hardly professional you can see where it it not professional and camera skips periods. if you cant see that then you really are a gimp.

  • look I didn't edit any video footage. its the 6 o'clock news from the RTE archive on Friday November 10th 2006. You can view the video yourself on the RTE news website if you have Real Player.

Again, why would RTE edit out her driving into the cops...simple...she didn't hence they couldn't show it. Im getting tired of this. anymore unsubstantiated lies will be deleted, People can still air there dislike of Shell 2 Sea but any false claims that can't be backed up will be deleted.

  • she didn't do anything she was just trying to drive along the road and she got attacked

  • Big ignorant thick sheep the gardai. Have absolutely NO time for them. When you cross the border and they hear your Ulster accent you can see their eyebrows going up a couple of inches. The look has 'possible subversive' or 'speeding Northern driver' written all over it and they treat you with contempt. The beatings they hand out to protest groups is shameful, Bertie's Right Wing Capitalist/British Stormtroopers.

  • That teacher didn't really do your campaign any good, she looks too mental

  • ....our constitution is next giving way to the farce of the EU Council and the lisbon treaty

we have a great country & should be free and independant to govern and run our own affairs

    Peace

    R

  • Those of you not up too speed on the why's and wherefore's of this and other protests need to brush up on your info before posting that these protesters are crusties with nothing better to do, you should be supporting them as its a just cause.. this country is f**ked we've been sold out constantly by our politicians, gone are our fisheries our OWN Natural resources Gas etc and our Ancient sites along with our History slowly and surely being desecrated... ..

  • See him hit the woman. Wat an asshole.

  • Maybe it's equality

  • go on sgt. oreilly about time the gardai kicked it up a notch maby if a few heads wer bashed in a bit more often we mite have sum proper order in this country!theese crustys need to get a decent job and life for themselves!!

  • well said!

  • Ignorance wont give a good name to the Irish. Stop spreadin' hate. Back in your box.

  • hear hear.

  • There should certainly be some arrests in relation to the Rossport protests. But the arrests should not be of those blocking the work but those who agreed to hand over our natural resources.

Any Irish person who takes time out of their lives to fight for the rights of everybody in this country must be praised and commended.

Not mocked by some faceless fool like this tikotron000 idiot, if you are indeed Irish you should seriously about what you are writing

  • These 'Protestors' are preventing ordinary Irish citizens from going to work and doing their job. I have no issue with the protest itself but the way which they have carried it out was a disgrace and they lost a lot of support because of that. They should be outside the Dail picketing and not using up valuable Garda resources and wasting ordinary peoples time.

  • Well I disagree, this is where they live not dublin, your right their current tacticts are not working,on a national front. if you agree there is a problem and think there is a better way of solving it, well you should do something about that.

Protesting outside the dail wont work either, just dont bring the cameras down.remember they did'nt ask for this to happen to them, just did and come on selling our gas of another country for a fraction of its value should have us all up in protest.

  • She drove her car to a protest against shell???? Wonder where the petrol came from????

  • two words - petrol bombs.

that's what would happen down here in limerick

    gauranteed.

    dirty filth

  • Yeah, of course it would you redneck mong.

  • These are the "guards" our tax pays for.

This is supposed to be a free country.

The locals have a right to protest over a multinational pillaging their area.

Imagine if the pipe had to go trough Bertie's garden?!!

The Fianna Fail government clowns, with their ramshackle members allow these brutes to be heavyhanded.

    Only in Ireland

  • you must never have been to continental europe

  • its amazing how many gardai are their and how much force they use,but do u all know why its simple money, do u c these rat gardai bastards around southill in limerick, or ballymun ,where its like bagdad at the weekends, course not , some fat fuck politician is pressing the garda commisioner to do this!

  • Who's going to get rich off this shit? Certainly not the people affected by the line. If I had a farmer there I wouldn't want a pipeline running through my farm.

  • thats so funny 2.05 pitty no one true the gards over! there such pricks treating them people like that there like the black and tans if they had guns wed all be dead!.

  • Old Greek proverb says: The voice of the people is the voice of God. Is it possible that politicians and their Gardai dogs are so impudent to stand up to God??

  • thats a load of crap in this context. how many protesters where in this? less than 50?less people than there is in the dail. how are these actions the voice of the people when there is more people opposeed to it?

  • Oh? And how do you know there're more opponents than supporters? And what, if there're less than 50 of them their voice doesn't mean anything?

Besides, similar actions take place in other countries.

  • so if my year which is about 60 people start protesting that the lc should be abolished are you saying that it actually should be?similar actions take place in other countries true. take burma. that had about 50 farmrs looking for money. oh no wait. that was 10000's of monks wanting democracy

  • 90% of folk who go into the gards are ignorant - thats why they join and then why they do b so heavy handed. they throw sum poor fucking eedjiot off the bridge at 2:05 - crazy mentalists

  • where in the name of god did u get that fact??? ignorant of what? did someone go up to all the gardai and ask them if they were ignorant? go tell your lies somewhere else

  • no the people who join the gardai are those who follow and enforce the law (the courts have said that shell are well within there rights to build the terminal and by law can do so)the gardi are there for oblidged to make sure that the law is followed) and would you stop say that he got throwin off a bridge thats a small dithch i now cause i've been there and seen it

  • haha watch 2:05 they threw a guy off the bridge hahaha! crazy irish cops

  • WATS THE NAME OF TAT SONG???

  • it's "Know Your Enemy" by Rage Against The Machine

  • THANKS!!!

  • From the ecologist "All profit from the Corib gas field will be shared between Marathon (Texas based company), Shell & Norwegian Statoil (partially state owned petrochemical company) which means Norwegian citizens see more benefit than Irish communities" However, the environmental & health damage from these pipelines will be inflicted upon Irish communities & Irish land. (I'm not irish by the way but found this to be food for thought).

  • Well said claireuv22. The truth is our natural resources are being given away by incompetence, ineptitude or downright corruption, corruption I may add, (to those who pretened to be shocked or slighted by such accusations) which the tribunals have revealed which was endemic in Irish political life. How do we know that in twenty years time we wont have a revelation that our natural resources were given away because someone had their arse pocket stuffed with bribes.

  • You're a very intelligent person aren't you. ???

  • try & batton minerva & brigid u slags

  • 400 billion.............you've obviously got a good grip of your economics there ignelius.

Get a grip and come into the real world, you might even like it!

  • 400 billion is the estimated figure for the total amount of oil and gas reserves around Irelands coast. Due to tax breaks by Ray burke and Bertie Ahern exploration companies such as Shell and Tony O' Reillys providence can exploit and flog it with nothing going to the Irish exchequer.

  • man,you must of had ALOT of buckfast for breakfeast the day you came up with 400 billion worth of oil and gas reserves.

  • Thats the governments own figures from the Irish Petroleum Affairs Division of the Department of Marine and Natural Resources.

  • This Shell to Sea protest really annoys me..its been going on for ages now.. about time they give it over, as someone said here, people have a right to protest, but shell have done everything legally here.. and now the usuall hippy fools have jumped on the bandwagon and are down there protesting and costing tax payers money everyday.. Garda should just kick there heads in..

  • "down there protesting and costing tax payers money everyday"

The deal to give away rights to the oil and gas off irelands shores cost taxpayers upto 400 billion. If you want to whine about taxes thats were you should be looking.

  • i'd like to know where you pulled that figure- 400 billion ? where did you get that from ?

    nice song, RATM.

    fair play.

it makes for good entertainment certainly.

if shell dont get their way, the least they shud do is put a mobile phone mast in there at the end... c'est la vie non ? ^^

  • I was there & was hit several times with a baton, for standing up for the rights of people to live safely in their homes. All you dumb fuck losers think about what you would do if someone wanted to put a highly dangerous pipeline next to ur family's house before you go slagging 'hippies'. Would you have the balls to do something about it?

  • Shower of fascist cockroaches, do ye know that Shell stand to make 400billion from this project & the Irish people ZERO due to Shell's deals with corrupt politicians?

  • well farmerstan your name says a lot get out of your mammys house she is wipeing your nose to often for ya live in the real world dont close your eyes to what is going on open them up fool good luck cop

  • larry, youre an idiot

  • Peoples support for the fucking fat inept pigs is disgusting. Ur saying people don't have the right to protest... I hope you all crawl into a hole and die.

  • great vid

  • go on the protesters, fuck shell and the guards.

  • point me to a minute and second reference of someone actually getting hit with one.........im not saying it didnt happen i firmly believe it did im just saying the only thing this video shows is the gardai forcibly moving people off the road and before that gardai walking with batons but i could of missed it and as regards your comment on the other vid...people like me?? im just an average citizen

  • Mark: start at 1:25.

  • come to think of it in that video you dont see one person getting hit by a baton all the gardai are doing is pushing and shoving people off the road and pulling some fool out of her car............anyway i dont wana start a big argument but in my opinion if you are ordered by a court to not protest and then you do you bring it on yourself

  • You can't see anyone getting hit with a baton? Are you blind as well as everything else? What do you think they're using, pieces of pipe?

  • it does not matter if they were violent toward the police imo they were their illegally and if your telling me they did not "resist" / "fight back" when they were being moved on your in dream land and barry, to me age or sex is not an excuse to get away with breaking the law

  • Standing your ground is not the same as fighting back. Age or sex isn't an excuse for breaking the law, but you would think that a man with a stick might think twice about hitting those smaller and weaker than him. The guards down there who have been violent are delighted with this because they know this is the best chance some of them will ever have for promotion. Their more intelligent and restrained colleagues are disgusted with them, you can see it in their faces.

  • What do you think should be done if the law should be changed - if there have been oversights which means that lives will be lost and habitat/environment destroyed? Is it right to sit back and let that happen just because the law says so? Laws do get changed, and are sometimes wrong - they're not the word of a supreme being. There must be something not quite right if police fight against the communities that they are supposed to protect on behalf of corporations because the law says so.

  • that wasnt a baton charge more like a baton walk............they were ordered to move and they didnt just coz they are the more "mature"members of society they think they can do what they want.......the gardai were dead right

  • Beating women and teenagers with sticks is "dead right". Just sounds thuggish to me, Mark.

  • fuck shell its all about money no wonder we have wars its all about oil no wonder people wont cooperate with the guards with the way the have behaved they are a pack of fuckers and so is our goverment they all takeing back handers

  • Scum bags! The Garda there are a bunch of thugs, using an illegal baton Sgt O'Reilly was as well, steel it was, wonder why he wasn't arrested that day instead of peaceful protestors

  • Wow the gardai are real cunts.

  • Totally agree belmulletvonny

  • It seems the B Specials are alive and working for Shell, while being paid by the Irish tax payer! We are a very welcoming nation, come on in, have our natural resources for peanuts(we must discount the cash paid to the Brown Envelope Brigade)and while we're at it we will batter the objectors out of the way for ye!While we're at it,we will have gobshites write in to say how the Gardai are right to brutalise anyone who objects, wonder what they would say if it was in their back yard?

  • not brutalise those who object.they can protest if they want.you can mill around blocking entrances etc and make your point but if the gardai say don't advance or disperse from one particular area and if you don't do it than you get punished, like in school-if you don't do what headmaster says you get punished

  • The Rossport residents are not in school under the direction of a benign headmaster, they are trying, using the avenues available to them to protect their homes, their families and their community. Their opposition is a huge multi national company, the government and all its agencies including the Gardai, who are a bit confused as to what the "Guardians of Peace" really means, As for "milling" around in entrances...sounds more like sheep than men!

  • i appreciate that shel r pricks for doin what they're doing.i've always maintained this and have supported your cause whenever i could by showing up at protests of sorts over near where i live.what i don't agree with is the constant and sometimes unjustified criticism of the guards on the ground.they are doin what they are told and what is standard in other countries.you're lucky your living in ireland, and the headmaster thing was not to be taken literally-you know exactly what i meant by it

  • Shane, none of us have a problem with the IMPARTIAL enforcing of the law. What we have a problem with is biased enforcement and uofficially encouraged brutality.

  • As i said shell are pricks.I'm referring to the fact that when people don't listen to the guards and cause the shit that i've previously referred to then things are bound to happen.Communication works both ways

  • You can see O'Reilly in the clip telling people to get off the road and then hitting them before they have time to do anything. What kind of communication is that?

  • Again we don't see the overall picture. We don't see what happened before leading up to that.

  • You're right, they're not all good people. I know some of them who are sound men, but it's the boys who know they're not going to get promoted any other way and are mad to prove themselves now that give the rest a bad name. There's one thing I don't believe and that is that the guards are suffering any violence. That RTÉ would want to cover that up is nonsense.

  • I didn't say that RTE would try and cover it up.I said they only gave it a tiny reference.Like i said they didn't give more than a few words to the Garda who was thrown out in front of a bus,or the one held over a bridge,or the ones that were beaten around....hence they fought back.Granted a lot was unprovoked but the worst stuff wasn't

  • I watched the news that time, and I never heard any mention of violence towards the guards. Nor have I heard of any since, despite intense provocation. Nor does any footage or photos I have seen show it. It sounds like pure fantasy to me.

  • You not hearing or seeing it means exactly that.Doesn't mean it didn't happen.I know what i heard.Theres no way either of us can prove the other wrong but i stand to gain nothing from making it up...

  • Incidents where guards are thrown in front of buses are small and wouldn't be cught on camera however the resulting brawls would be.Some people there deserved it

  • Vandrell: "Incidents where guards are thrown in front of buses are small and wouldn't be cught on camera..." Strange camera.

  • Well Barry you shud probably quote what i daid in its entirity. Then what you said wouldn't make sense. The bus incident would be the spark that started a brawl. The camera would then capture the brawl because thats an obvious dusturbance. But why would the camera be looking at the particular part of the crowd at the moment when the guard was thrown out.Not such a strange camera is it?
