im so grateful someone got footage of this ,. i was 3 from the front ,. it was the most epic time ,. the mosh pit was jokes ,. im just a small dude but was pushing my ahrdest and ended up getting punched in the rib , but it took me like 20 seconds to turn around because i was mesmerized by the intenseness going on , and when i did i looked back saw a couple thousand people , but not one person was withing 2 metres of me !! lol , it was so awsome
and i agree with klimbo , i was in the pit for most of that concert and i missed a lot! i kicked myself in the ass afterwards for not standing off to the side and watching , i dont think theres many people that go to a tool concert... after they see a britney spears conncert, .. if any
If someone wants to make a video of the conert to refect back on it , or for other people to see it, obviously it means alot to that person if they feel like they need to share it with other people people , i went to the concert and we recorded it on a cell phone, its the exact same thing if i wanted to go and show my friends how sick it was.
I don't know what you guys are talking about, I was at least as close as this camera person and I smoked a joint and several cigarettes, took videos and pics on my phone and never got caught.
That aside: Most transcendental night of my life.
Great fuckin show, I was right up front and had the time of my life, when jambi started the pit didnt stop for 2-3 songs till lost keys started.......stinkfist was my favorite by far, lateralus ans vicarious were sick as well
I don't care how many shows you go to, but if you go just to take pics you are no better than the girls at a spears concert... too afraid to go in to the pit?
Hum... I go into the pit sometimes, for Tool, not the kind of band to go into the pit, it's much more like a visual experience! For Britney Spears, not my kinda music!
This show was pretty normal when it comes to security... I'm suprised that you could take your beer in to the pit, most places will herd you like cattle in to a fence lol... you need to go to more shows
klimbo666 - to answer your question... there are venue rules such as no smoking no outside food & beverage. Bands have their own security demands which in this case were very tight and included no cameras.
It wasn't easy, when I go to shows here in Montreal, it's not like this, the proofs are my other videos, I've never seen something like this, this kind of security at Mach 10 power...
I was there too, two rows from the stage on the right. My ears were ringing for over a day after the show, man that was loud... but awesome!
Maynard was really into it too, unlike previous shows apparently. After Jambi or so he said "Oh Canada!" told everyone to stop fuckin' up the US dollar, and then had us repeat some things including "do the dishes!". He also told us to "watch out for our roommates" and such. I know he said more including a joke, but I can't remember... does anyone know?
toolfantwo - Haha no, unlikely. I was the tall guy with blond hair spiked in front, wearing one of those Tool shirts you could buy at the show, the black shirt with souls heading towards a light of infinite awareness, over my TA shirt.
I didn't see klimbo but I did see his camera, ducking down every time the security guy came up and shone his flashlight towards him or someone in the "mosh pit" who was having too much fun...
Regarding the volume in Kingston.....Yes it was a bit loud.... great show... TWEAK BIRD are great, live and on CD,,, Just got back from the Toronto show as well. Both were superb and well executed. What a difference a venue makes: energy, crowd reaction and presentation. Think Kingston was a better show of the two.
Security was brutal. I was dead centre in the front and could've had some amazing footage. They called me out just for opening up my cell that had a camera.
It wasn't easy, I can tell you! I've never seen such security around an event, I don't know if it's always like this at KRock center or Tool management, but here in Montreal, there's no problem like that, we could record the entire concert, mostly.. check out my other videos, like KISS!
I've seen at least two guys getting thrown out of the event for filming!
Security around there usually isn't that crazy... I mean I've seen a few shows hosted by K-Rock, and they hardly had any security... Then again this was hosted by GoldenVoice.
