  • uuuuuuuggghhh that looks nasty!

  • im not even filipino, but that does not look too great.. lol.. but atleast you tried

  • i think adobo has no Onion....

  • erm .. of course it does have onion. it a main thing to have . just this 1 is too big. too long. haha. x]

  • it does...adobo has garlic and onions as aromatics. i eat adobo like all the time lol.

  • just look all the video in connection on how to cook adobo,NO ONION PRESENT.

  • my fiance is 100% filipina and she uses onion ...and its how her grandma taught her how to make it. . . . also fresh thinly sliced ginger!!

  • chicken kelaguen is so much better than fish. :) i think the spicier the better too!!

  • I knew that dish sounded familiar. They mention it in that song by the Black Eyed Peas (Bebot). I have a habit of picking up on weird things like that. So called "useless information."

  • i would so do that, but washing dishes is too brutal. hey do you go to richardson law?

  • I think it's great you and co-worker make lunch for each other. I enjoyed your video.

  • People who are commenting on this video and providing their own instructions on making chicken adobo should stop commenting. She at least tried to make the video for viewers who wish to try it and she even stated that she does not know the authentic way to make it. What are you trying to prove by saying she's doing it wrong? That you are better? If so, make your own damn video. We might appreciate your help in real life but not on here with such criticism.

  • 1. Never use the sink to wash sneaker shoes or clothes. Clean it clean water is clean water.

    2. Try bottled water or water filter pitchers. No clorine chemical water, and less 'paramecium' and germs. the clean faucet water is good.

  • all the ingredients look yummy. i luv onion lol.

  • Nice work, we liked your video very much so we embedded it on ChefCommons . com w/ link back and reference to Youtube. (Let us know if you don't wish for it to be featured)

  • my kind of woman =) im not japanese, im filipino & all that look yummy

  • ummmmm sodium makes your food sour

  • you mean salty?

  • no when you eat a tamarind just like the vinegar

  • LOL! it would really taste nasty coz you put too much vinegar, ratio of soy : vinegar should be 2:1. try to mix all the ingredients together & put the vinegar last. important: dont mix! (it wont burn) cook in medium heat until chicken is cooked. reply for feedback.

  • very good

  • tips for better and yummier taste: put the garlic first instead of onion until the color is brown for the garlic to be crispier.. then put the onion... and so on... you can also put small amout of sugar, maye a half teaspoon to add sweetness.. (put sugar next to the pepper) try it...

  • she said the soy sauce is sodium acetate with eyeballs of alien and the vinegar is the urine

  • you were missing ginisa seasoning :P

  • lol yuck!!!!!!!!!!! yuckier than ever!!!!!!!

  • don't mind them but your cook looks yummy !!!!!!!!!!

  • can you use something else instead of the soy sauce?

  • Nice ! I gotta give you credit tho for truely trying and on top of that live casting what you cooked !!! :P I also made a few mistakes too when I first cooked my first ever adobo meal, but thats how we all learn...from our mistakes :)

  • I miss your videos! Where are you ?

  • Indeed, don't stir after you have add the vinigar

  • don't stir-

  • WA! i thought this girl is donita rose!

  • bistek nga un at d adobo pre

  • put tomato sauce & kANGKONG

  • try to put some potato..

  • leave her alone!

  • looks good =D

  • Wow your adobo is really dark. Lol, that's okay though, if you think it tastes good then it must be good. I've watched other people make adobo and the thing that gives adobo its characteristic is the sauce, some people just marinate the chicken and then cook it.. but it needs to boil in the sauce. At least you had the procedure right.

  • your so ignorant god i cant believe it...leave her

  • lol..you should have put the garlic frist before the onions,,,

  • you should marinate the chicken in soysauce, vinegar, garlic before cooking it. But anyways, nice trying atleast u love adobo ^^

  • ow and dont put equal parts of vinegar...it will taste too vinergary and too tangy...it should be 50% soy sauce, 20% vinegar, and 30% water or chicken broth. And Keliguin...if u make chicken keliguin you have to cook the chicken first.

  • chicken adobo doesnt come out well if u dont cook the chicken on the bone. i think thats why she had to adjust a lot of things later on the show.

  • The recipe that you tell us, you keep changing.. You should stay with one.. It seems like you haven't cook "Adobe" as much.. The video is ok, but don't stop making videos..

  • if you only "heard" about this and about that.. about filipino.. Well, that explains your IGNORANCE more than anything else. I suggest do your research before making a stupid comment. My gosh! I can see stupid people.. they're everywhere *lol

  • Wrong way to cook sorry! NIce Try THough...

  • damn...is it me or does she have a damn LISP!

  • Hi, I grew up in the Philippines but now based here in Canada and I always miss Philippine food. I'm living alone and I seldom cook myself (I'm trying to learn though). Your video will serve as inspiration for me to cook more! Good luck to you and keep on rocking!!!

  • Filipino foods might not popular but very delectable.

  • you are entitled for an opinion no matter how wrong it is.

  • nelfod03...yes filipino food is world famous, did you taste our famous dog meat adobo, monkey brain adobo, kilawen, pinikpikan (some call it 'killing me softly'), torture a live chicken, remove the feathers while still alive then whip it slowly with a stick all around the body until blood clots all over and is dead, then cook either abodo style or cook with papaya and ginger....mmm yummy

  • yeah, we even eat stupid fucking human like u

  • pinoy ka rin pala gago....cannibal ka pala

  • oooh ok i'm scared....FU

  • oh so youre scared??? FU 2 son of B*tch!

  • your mom lived in manila? awesome!

great job with the adobo =D

  • Then you haven't been to a Filipino party.

And there are Filipino restaurants, Jollibee and Goldilocks.

  • abno kba?hayaan mo lang

  • ahahahahhahah man;D u put toomuch onion i guest, that causes bad breath,,anyway i love adobo,,and i miss it,,im here in sweden;D boring sweden and im freakin hungry all the time specailly filipino food haha im freakin goona eat drums of it when i come back...although im trying to cook this and you gave me clue thnx a lot

  • i believe theres no onion in adobo..oh man and put lots of it..lol..

  • I LOOOOOOOVE chicken adobo! :-)

  • wtf lol, that was hilarious, i thought it was serious.

  • Looks great *****

  • actually you can cook adobo in many ways...i make the best adobo i marinate it with vinegar and soy sauce the meat first together with the garlic so it absorb the taste then after 5min marinating bring to a pan to boil add the onion and cover. when meat is tenderize you can add sugar/pineapple fruit when available then pepper.Put water half a cap when you want to have more sauce you can add chicken broth optional then its ready!!!! TRUST ME ITS THE MOST DELICIOUS ADOBO YOU CAN MAKE:)

  • That shit looks delicious.

    Great video.

  • What you're adobo is saying, "You're going to need plenty of rice to eat me". Not bad though, when I started I failed many times until I became mediocre at cooking it. The stir fry string beans looks good too.

  • i enjoyed watching you make adobo. im filipino and as far as i know adobo can be prepared in a number of ways. My dad is from the northern part of the Philippines and their adobo has "sauce". My mom is from the south and their adobo is dry. We sometimes add pineapple slices to our adobo. It doesnt matter how you prepare it. The most important part is how much rice you consumed! :)

  • i love adobo so much yummy

  • err..... well that depends on ones liking if oyu really want to make it equall parts.... the best adobo is something of an experiment...

  • stick with panda

  • i just buy chicken adobo mix from the market =]

  • Seeing some comments here coming from ignorant flips making fun of their heritage and traditions makes me wanna throw my own filipino poop in their faces.

  • that's good that you eat or cook some filipino food Alyssa.you're so cool.

  • hi u should'nt put soy sauce and vinegar the same amount cause vinegar is pretty sourish and it does'nt taste good when u put the same amount..so I suggest u put half the amount of vinegar with soysauce..so it taste good..I'm pilipino by the way hehe and I'm 15 hehehehe..

  • hey girl ur doing the wrong way.from the moment u put d vinegar don't mix it.let it simmer first.understand?!

  • there are many ways how to cook adobo^^

I make it The "Marinate First" Way

    ^^

  • The fish dish you mentioned sounds very much like Umai, a pickled fish dish in Sarawak, East Malaysia -- a famous dish of an indigenous group called Melanau.

  • keep up the good work guys!our food dont look appetizing but it really taste good!!!proud to be pinoy!!yahoo!!!

  • Try it before you diss it, asshole.

  • fuckin ignorant retard.

so just because they eat blood soup means all of their food is shitt?

    wow.

and i bet you've never even tried any of the stuff you listed before.

  • HI friend, dont lower your standards because of Amfab... yes, he is a jerk, but dont stoop to his level. You are better than him! Personally I <3 chocolate meat! :)

  • have u tryed it?!.....yea dont think u could talk

  • ur a dumbass filipino food is hella good! adobo, pancit and lumpias best dinner in the world!!!

  • what an imbecile!!!

  • We would think the same about your culture as well, however I am much more civilized and mature, I cant speak for others though. Thats how wars are started, when some one doesnt understand culture, religion, food, ect. and it turns into fear, then hatered, just because we are all different! But Im sure you agree we have all ONE maker... GOD! So please, respect your self and others. Thank you very much.

  • You're an asshole

  • it's not the worst..actually it's really go0d! but ofcourse i don't eat blo0d and the eggs with live chicks.,not all of us eat those..

  • ur not very good,

    seriously

  • honey in adobo? that sounds nice. maybe i'll put some in mine when i cook adobo next time. well it's an ordinary dish for us pinoys nowadays.

  • it loooks good

    dang i wanna eat adobo

  • WaHoOo! i love Chicken Adobo! yummy! =P

  • This time don't fall asleep.

  • hahahah!! wats wrong with ur adobo hahah!!

  • this is not adobo i srongly dis agree with your masterpiece claiming adobo. adobo should have a standard way and ingredients of cooking it!

  • wow..it doesn't look like a adobo..it look's more dinugaan to me...

  • lol philipino chocolate

  • cool!pork adobo is good too try it!

  • your adobo doesnt look good but thumbs up for your effort

  • dang, im ashamed, she ain't even filipino and she cook better than me lol

  • i love how you explain and candidness...keep it up. Love to cook also.

    manila =)

  • marry me

  • your beautiful..

  • My grandma is from Iloilo and the Visayan way of cooking the dish is to let it boil until the juice is gone and let the meat cook in its own fat. The Tagalog (people from Luzon) way is to leave some juice for the rice to soak up later on.

The secret is in the vinegar. Use Filipino vinegar (4% acidity)- either derived from sugar cane or coconut. Do not use Sukang Iloko for this dish as it is sweeter in taste and not sour enough. American vinegar is too strong, and will make it too sour.

  • add water

  • I am from Guam and I love making chicken Adobo. The way I do it is mix everything together out of the pot then I cook it till it's done. I admire the fact that you take interest in making this especially since you are not Asian. Right on. Oh ya, I am thrilled that you mentioned kelaguen. That is a favorite dish in Guam.

  • LOL I just tasted the chicken and it's nasty! BTW you don't look Fillipino.

  • marinating the meat overnight is the key, then just dump in on a caserole bring to boil and simmer , I like putting Onions also but it's not necessary.

  • In regards to Papaya tenderizing meat, this is true, but, it doesn't do it quickly.

Papayas contain an enzyme called "Papain". This is the enzyme that breaks down meat fibers and what-have-you, therefore tenderizing it. However, Papain only starts at very high temperatures. Using it at a low temperature (say room temperature) would just take forever. So if you plan to tenderize meat with Papayas, then, well, you probably just shouldn't.

  • Adding ginger will be even more delicious.

  • The "authentic" way to cook it is without the onions and honey. You don't slice the garlic but crush it instead, and use whole peppercorns. You don't saute' it either, you just kinda dump everything in and let it all boil :P

(>> Don't mean to sound jerk-ish, just saying for informative purposes.)

  • I have cooked Adobo the same way you mentioned. It is truly delicious.

  • U SOUND PILIPINO U !!!!!!!

  • I am a Malaysian Chinese and I know how to make Chicken Adobo too. I thought everything must be marinated first before cooking. I normally marinate for two hours.

  • that's actually not too bad! your ingredients are essentially the basic ingredients for adobo... but i agree with one of the peeps who made a comment... it's best if you marinate the chicken first (at least half an hour) before you cook it. next time you make it (in 4 years time - hehe) try adding a few cloves... great job cooking and filming at the same time! :o) and yes, you're one damn good looking lady! you accept compliments right?

  • my dad makes it better than you

  • kelaguen ftw haha not micronesia GUAM i dont like being called micronesian

  • Ha ha ha!!! That would be similar to a Chinese who hates being called an Asian. By the way, kelaguen is not necessarily a Guamanian dish. It is prepared in other parts of Micronesia and the rest of the South Pacific. I've even had it in the southern parts of the Philippines, but they use "kalamansi" instead of lemon.

  • too much bay leaf smell and taste like medicine. nice video and you look beautiful. thanks for the hint about papaya, i'll try it next time.

  • you should try peruvian style ceviche, if you are into lemon cooked fish... really good.

  • Thank you.

  • nice!

but the best way to make a chicken adobo or pork adobo is to marinette or soak first the chicken or pork to a mix soy sauce, vinegar, pepper before you cook it in a garlic and onion and after you cook put a pineapple chunk its delicous...

  • OMG, u look hot!

  • what's your nationality?!

am... am... what's "am..." suppose to mean by the way?!

    lol!

  • LOOKS LIKE MYSTERY MEAT TO ME!

  • but putting honey in there is a really good idea!!! i must try it for myself...me on my own version i put caramel..and i realy apreciate a people like you who cooked filipino dishes.. i like you..next tym try to cook caldereta...

  • once u put vinegar on ur adobo dont touch it!! let the vinegar to be cooked first..let it simmer first for around 5 mins before u mix it together..u should let the vinegar to be cooked first or else ur adobo will be a disaster!! trust me...

  • so wat did ur co-worker think about it? did she like it? jus curious cuz im filipino

  • can anybody show how to cook calderetang aso? where can I buy the aso meat? is there a slaughter house here for this kind of meat like goat meat? I tasted one when I went to Thailand.

  • aso meat?? dog meat???

  • I appreciate people like you who can do Filipino dishes even if you're not Filipino.

Cuz some Fil-Ams here could not make a Filipino food topic without making fun of being Filipinos...you know a little racism and a little shame in between...

    Thanks so much

  • Dinuguan is pork blood and pork meat not, chicken and tuyo

  • it looks nice but to make it better..

try to saute the garlic till its brown then add d onions, wait till brown and also fry d chicken a bit too....

    good job...it looks yummy

  • thats not adobo its DINUGUAN hehehe

  • nice adobo! r u the dessert?mmm

  • this is the same person as gideoserapio i meant better XD

  • They have that raw fish dish as well in the Philippines. We call it kinilaw (at least in bisaya). It's really good.

  • to much bayleaf its not good 2 ur adobo

  • I admire you cooking style but to make it taste better,,,fry the chicken and put it back the adobo sauce and then add some sweet thing like you said honey.

  • Why don't you and Judy just eat each other?

  • i'm filipino and .. yeah aren't the unions to big??

  • shes pretty too!!

  • I do not know why Japanese people knows how to cook adobo??

  • uhhh duh? my half sister who is pure american can cook adobo better than mine... and hey! there's a lot of filipinos in japan that's why! (some filipino can cook sushi too) and it's good!

  • thanks for the answer!

  • This is really good!

when I was in Japan my friends always cook Filipino dishes especially adobo.(^___^)

  • I'd rather eat you than adobo chk.
