If anyone should be banned from the military, its Christians. Ugh, imagine you and your unit are about to go into battle, or are patrolling a dangerous area. Then imagine the Christian in the unit saying things like "if you don't believe, you'll go to hell and suffer for all eternity". That would be so damaging to morale. How can troops fight effectively when they are stressed out like that? Christians in the army are dangerous.
And of course, once they tell him he can enlist, he's shit a brick and go AWOL. C'mon, how transparent can you be. He wasn't out to enlist, he was there to make a point. Captain shoulda said, "Well son, tell your father and grandfather thanks for their service. I've got recruits to talk to. Bye."
I am curious to know something. What exactly is it about being gay do you think it is that will make them unable to serve properly? If you hate them so much why not send them off to die needlessly in a foreign sandpit? I'm saddened that opinions like yours still exist. Just as any government you choose (in most cases) to be a part of, has the right to make laws. It may be tragic to some but it is idealistic to others. You are discriminating against the others. If one chooses to fight, let them fight for what THEY believe in, Not what YOU believe in.
