I saw Everest from the plane on my way into Kathmandu 2 weeks ago. Which ever one it was. Yeah, I know it's the tallest one. How can you miss it, but the neighboring peaks are high too and we were quite a distance from them. I had an isle seat so I couldn't, see them that well. I didn't go to Nepal to see Everest anyway. What?! Yeah, that's right. I went to visit a friend. What an experience!

when you climbed it did you see alot of the bodies along the way? theres the body of the first man to make it to the top and hes been there for almost 90 years, he died coming down and his partner is lost somewhere out there. i would never climb it because theres ALOT of bodies, more then 200 people died up there and most of them are still up there

This video is amazing, congrats on summiting it! I'm planning on making a summit in the future. I was planning to do it after I get "too old" for the Navy SEALs(because if im correct the oldest you can be is 34 or something? Most former SEALs ive talked to have been in their late 30s, early 40s)

Hey, If you are serious I hope you already read multiple books about it. Everyone experience there is unique though. You have to be in the top physical shape but most important you have to be an experience climber, to spent your energy wisely. Defiantly you want to test yourself at high altitude somewhere else - just pure economics. Good luck

@ypritzke I would agree, its not enough to just hit the gym, you need that technical experience - no crew worth its name will take someone on that has not had *significant* climbs to their credit. I did Elbrus in 2006 and even then they lost ^11^ people a day earlier. It only took one slip on some shale rock to bring an entire team down. And thats only at 18,510.

There are lots of bodies on Everest believe it or not, they die and get covered by snow or die and get covered or they die in an avalanche and it's just very difficult to search for the bodies so they have to keep moving or they're dead too.

Sad to here that. As you might now we also lost Sherpa this year in the Ice fall. He was from our team and his body was recovered only couple of days ago. I missed the same avalanche by 25 min, was still climbing down the ice fall.

when we did our summit in 2005, the ice fall took 8 hours, and before we returned to camp 3, two people had died. Some guy from Germany and a lady from England. I never saw them on the way down, but God rest their souls. The are on the mountain till this day last I heard.
